BUT. If you care at all about aquatic life, you would not be taking wild animals out with hooks in them. There is such carnage going on in the seas. From the plastic bags that can kill a 60' foot whale in agony. The Chinese shark fin harvest is reportedly taking 11,000 sharks de-finned and thrown back to drown EVERY HOUR. The tuna harvest from Taiwanese longliners takes EVERYTHING in their nets - 50 kilometers long. Just the abandoned nets are killing millions of turtles, whale sharks, sea lions. It's urgent now that the best people put their energy into making the oceans a sacred place - because they are.

sharks recover fast though, they have a better healing factor than we do.
Also why shark cartilage is so good for the human immune system.
At that size it would've only been useful for Pet Food. Juveniles, however, are very tasty.
