Shark attacks r very rare. More swimmers have been attacked and killed by salty crocs than sharks.
Most shark attacks have been on ppl in black wet suites cause to a shark they make ppl look like seals.
They worked that out years ago and recomend not using black wet suits use bright ones with mixed colours to break up ur outline.

Most of the fear of sharks is due to films like jaws. Cause ppl see films likethat and hyped up media reports who make things a lot worse than they actualy were just to sell papers has caused histeria amoung ppl blaming sharks for things they havnt done.

brad smith I've seen black folks let out blood curdling screams and run like scared little girls at the mere sight of a harmless 18 inch garden snake.Why would it be any surprise they aren't usually targeted by sharks?? Ya pretty much have to be in the water to get bit by a shark.Coastal waters are much scarier to the blacks than a lil' monster garden snake.Blacks are afraid of the ocean, therefor there are very few blacks being attacked by sharks.Before any keyboard genius comments on me saying "blacks are afraid of the ocean", I base that on what I've been told by several back folks. How many black surfers have you seen ? :)

So glad you clarified what part of the white species you relate to. The funny part is that I haven't heard stories or seen documentaries of black folks being eaten by sharks. I guess there are more white folks out taking chances on the ocean blue. .

Hunting and fishing as food and game! Good food and export to Asia for profit. They do not make good pets. How much does keeping beaches open have on out come of study? Or Maybe!!! Tourism big dollars!!! Looking dangerous to say the least. Some people put higher value on critters that will rat you than humans.

stay out the ocean if your afraid of sharks it's their home after all ,nets are the worse idea ever they kill turtles, dolphins, sharks & all the other beautiful creatures in the sea they know if a shark smells a dead shark it wont come near it, scientists biologists etc must be able to make a shark death scent to keep sharks away from shallow water, these people disgust me we need sharks look what happened after the film jaws millions of sharks were killed ,then their were millions of seals thankfully they banned shark killings ,sharks keep the ocean clean & in order ,sharks are scavengers please leave them to do their work, far to many sharks are killed for fin soup if this doesn't stop there will be no sharks left.

Iv'e seen that happen the poor sharks are left to drown ,An entire nation would need to be wiped out to stop the fins being taken they just luv shark fin soup it's a delicacy in china & japan that's why a wrote that at the end of my comment ' i'm just back from the maldives i was terrified of sharks but still loved to watch them on tv & yt then i seen them up close the ocean is beautiful i feel like iv'e just came back from being in a cartoon my villa had a glass bottom floor, i lay at night in bed watching the sea come alive 9/12 ft tiger sharks swimming by my room it was amazing giant rays swam by the room went dark, all the lovely fish of all colours in the sea but the ocean would be a sewer if not for the sharks they keep it clean , i wish i could stop finning but it will never happen in my life time anyway, also in japan they kill 26,000 dolphins every yr just to get a couple of babies for sea world & they call this entertainment it's disgusting what humans are doing to the ocean

Robert Mcintyre I met a bloke recently who worked on a shark boat in northern QLD. They pulled in around 3000 sharks every 2 days and don't even pull them onboard. As they come up it was his job to cut their fins off then throw the sharks back. Go protest that if you want to make a real impact on behalf of the sharks.

I'm a fisherman I understand the ocean more...I heard the Australian government closed commercials fishing in the harbour and that's the reason why many sharks go there because of great multitudes of fish in the harbour...Australian government should reopen commercial fishing again because it will decreases the amount of sharks in the harbour and if less fishes in the harbour the sharks will go off shores and open ocean for a feed.

With the technology and finances available, why can't someone develop a tag that can be attached to these magnificent animals without catching them. A tag that is powered long enough or solar powered to establish the animals complete travels around the globe. If we could only tag 30 young Whites in each of the areas mostly covered by media....i.e; Western Australia, Guadalupe, Seal Island, and the east coast of America.
Tag them, and sit back and learn something about these awesome animals.
I can track a DHL parcel around the world, but not a shark.!!!!
I am so fed up with the Shark Experts trying to tell us they know about Great Whites....they know nothing more now than Ron & Valerie Taylor learnt back in the 70's
They try and blow smoke up everyones skirts with films, cage diving, swimming outside cages, facts about attacks, sizes, weights, water temps........they don't even know where they give birth or migrate to. They need to also investigate the relationship between the Whites and Killer Whales....huge unknown area. Great Whites tagged in SA waters have appeared in WA waters 9 weeks later...why...??? Same migratory patterns as Red Salmon..??? They don't know.....but they will keep putting these videos on Youtube with garbled repetitive information about the greatest fish in our oceans.
Here's hoping someone has read this and decides to do some proper search.
