Ok, but getting publicity from the show, and then raising profits that way doesn't mean these sharks made a mistake by not investing. I've never heard of any of these companies, and I don't plan on using or buying any of these products. Except maybe the Mtailor. If it's as accurate and cheap as he pitched, I might have to look into that.

They are not selfabsorbed idiots. Each pitch lasts for around 45 mins to more than an hour each. But the show-runners edit it & cut it to show just the important moments, also editing is done in such a way to make it look more dramatic to get more audiences on TV. Most wantrepreneurs/ applicants who got rejected on the show have only good things to say about these Sharks. Most got vital tips in life despite the rejections. Catch up on these people's products news/blogs. Also they show what happened to those ideas after they were rejected on the show. These ideas get a traction because of the shark tank show itself. Sometimes entrepreneurs come on show with the intent of promotion and not getting a deal. TV is the best way to do so. All kinds of factors are there. Talking about the sharks, they too were rejected in their struggling days. Nothing ever was handed over to them on the silver platter. This is a shark eat shark world. Eat or get eaten. Survival of the fittest. Every person is out there on his/her own.

Most of these people got offers, but refused so most of these weren't even rejected. Of all of them though, only two were "semi successful" and that was Ring and Lip Bar. The rest were one hit wonders and they were hardly considered wonders. Does anyone even remember the other products besides from this show? There was and is no advertising. The only product I think they should have invested in was Ring. Everything else was so lame, the only reason people bought them was for a trend that never happened.

Things like Ring already existed, but had not been marketed heavily to the west. They are successful elsewhere and that should tell the sharks a hell of a lot, obviously they are a little out of touch. A conventional business investor also does their homework as they know they do not know everything.

As for the Xero shoes, they are a sure fire hit. Look at how popular Havaianas are. Thinner shoes are better for the feet and naturally comfortable. If you live in a tropical region these kinds of things would be your staple footwear.

There are a LOT of products out there that have massive potential in western markets, but just haven't arrived yet.

I have a rocket book and honestly hated it. The instructions are extremely vague, and unless you have a huge microwave then the book does not work. It doesn't give you a set time to cook it, and you have to take it out and check every 30 seconds. Mine took 3 minutes on each side to erase FYI it ws to much of a hassle, and not being able to send the notes to multiple people was not ideal for me

50 years? most trees used for wood are ready for harvest in less than 10 years, the hybrid poplar is ready after just 5 years. Say you need 100 trees to produce one years worth of glasses. You can plant 100 trees every year and in 5 years harvest 100 every year while replacing them with new seeds, so at no point will there ever not be at least 400 trees that otherwise wouldn't exist without your business.

A lot of wood/paper industries actually ensure there are more trees on the planet than there would be without those industries because they're planting millions of seeds that wouldn't otherwise be planted/cultivated. Deforestation is mainly an issue in third world countries with poor industry and overpopulated countries that are making space for habitation.

And finally most of the oxygen in the world is actually created by phytoplankton not trees.

That's how we do it in Ontario and we produce an unbelievable amount of lumber and Ontario is still covered in tree's. The thing is though that before a company is allowed to cut down any tree's an environmental assessment is done and they tell you how many tree's you need to replant so the forest ends up better than it ever was. There's more to it but northern Ontario is now almost one massive forest.

I had a friend that went to college for forestry and basically he said for each tree that was cut down they would plant two. Now given that's a more recent practice and not every company that collects wood does it it's far more sustainable than a product made from crude oil that takes millions of years to replenish that just ends up in a landfill or becomes part of trash island. I think wood is more expensive because it takes a lot of time and money to get someone to cut down wood, plant two trees, move the heavy wood and have it crafted so people turn to plastic for it's cheapness

First of all, Minecraft is so unrealistic and second, one big tree could make 100,000 of those glasses, so they don’t have to cut down many trees. THIRD, a couple hundred of trees will make 1 million glasses, and a hundred of trees won’t make it so you can’t breathe dumbass

Sure. It takes 500 years to decompose and all that stuff. But did you consider that I can just put it in a pile, maybe compress it?
Trees however, once they're gone, I can't just get some bonemeal out like in minecraft, right click a few times and have a tree larger than my house..

Also trees produce oxygen.

So where both sides are valid in saying it's not eco friendly, I'd prefer to use plastic, at least I'll be able to breath while surrounded by a mountain of my old and unused sunglasses.

trees takes 50 years to grow to a usable size hemp grows in 2 months and its possible to make hemp in to a substance similar to fiberglass since deforestation is the main cause to the global ecosystems health i would suggest not using trees

I don't think a) is true anymore. Initially they required taking a percentage stake in the company to be featured, but Mark Cuban was vehemently against that for various reasons, namely about it scaring away good businesses, and they have since stopped that.
