Why No Aquarium In the World Has a Great White Shark?
Shark videos 6 years ago 2,390,020 views
Even if you absolutely love aquariums and have been to dozens of them, there's one sea creature you’ll never ever come across there. Not a single aquarium in the world has a great white shark. Is the great white not cool enough to be put on display? Are people afraid of being attacked even when these animals are confined within thick walls made of special glass? There have been plenty of attempts to hold these creatures captive. In 1955, the first great white was captured and sent to Marineland of the Pacific in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the animal didn't even make it through one day at the oceanarium. Scientists still don't know much about the great white shark, but they have come up with several theories. TIMESTAMPS Where can you find great white sharks? 0:48 Attempts to hold great white sharks captive 2:28 Why do they suffer so much from being locked up? 5:00 Depression 5:12 Lack of space 5:32 Respiratory problems 6:13 Hunger 7:05 The wrong water salinity 7:36 Why is it important to save the last great white sharks? 7:52 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -These massive fish can be spotted in cool coastal waters all over the world. “Human” isn’t on a great white’s menu. In general, there are no more than 10 attacks a year. -In 1955, the first great white was captured and sent to Marineland of the Pacific in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the animal didn't even make it through one day at the oceanarium. The SeaWorld in San Diego managed to keep a great white for 16 days back in 2003, but they ended up deciding to release the animal back into the ocean. -Scientists still don't know much about the great white shark, but they have come up with several theories. -Believe it or not, depression and shock can bring these powerful creatures down. -No aquarium in the world can provide the animal with conditions to let it move as it does in the wild. -In a tank, great whites can't move freely, so they develop problems with their respiratory system. What's more, a shark can suffer from hypoxia, or a deficiency of oxygen. -Since they need to hunt down their prey and eat it alive, they often refuse to eat in captivity. -You can't even imagine how hard it is to mimic the ocean’s unique water composition. -Great white sharks are extremely important for keeping the ecological balance in the oceans. Losing just one shark endangers the entire ecosystem. Unfortunately, there are just about 3,500 of them left in the world. captivity
Hey
When I grow up, I want to be a marine biologist. I think seaworld keeps the sick animals to make them better, although, after their sickness, they should let them free but I really don't know if they do that. They should keep animals unless their endangered, sick, or need help. Other than that, they shouldn't keep animals in a tank. I do not want to keep animals when I grow up because I know very well it's bad to the ecosystem.
Some animals are in captivity for safety a reproduction for example like for an endangered species

Apparently they are on the brink of extinction because of habitat loss.
Seriously Humans, at least leave halve of the world for animals. :(
(No exhibit could ever have a cage like this)
Just saying...

But you could see how frustrated these animals were. And the gorilla in particular wasn't attempting to hunt but was pounding on the glass - quite possibly because it took all the direct eye contact as a form of aggression, just as it would in the wild.
The whole thing made me sad. Animals aren't in and of themselves deadly to humans. They are behaving according to their nature. Carnivores hunt, and if we insert ourselves in their paths we may become part of the menu if we start behaving like prey.
The repeated attempts to hold great whites captive just tells me our nature is apparently to obtain "everything." Does humanity somehow feel entitled to disrupt the natural balance of things because "everyone should get to see a shark up close, or pet a wild cat, etc."?
We are largely responsible for the extinction of numerous species and the present endangerment of many others.
More on this, as well as efforts some people are taking to help conserve wildlife:

Check in on any of nature's large carnivores -lions, tigers, bears, wolves, leopards, cheetah, jaguar, etc. and all are facing extinction.

The loss of any species makes me sad, but the loss of our apex predators should be particularly concerning. Nature works in balance with many times more prey than predators, each serving a purpose in the natural world. Herbivores feed off and control the vegetation and predators control prey numbers, typically catching the old or the weakest of the young. What's more, most apex predators have a success rate when hunting of just 10-20%, with the most successful predators actually being smaller - African wild dogs, the black-footed cat, and our own domestic housecats

In essence, predators keep prey populations healthy. They have a purpose, and if we lose them, the natural balance cannot be maintained. They are not here for our amusement and we have no business caging them or hunting them for wall decorations and bragging rights.
1. Good Luck catching a shark
2. The great white shark is gigantic and can easily break even the thickest of glass

So i will see a megaladon the lochness monster and the kraken
Not just only by the reasons on this video but also because of:
- Wrongly disposed industrial chemical waste or industrial waste waters (mainly bumped directly to the big rivers or ocean directly without allmost any sort of filtering). This abbomination reacts wery rappidly with chemical compounds of sea itself killing or deadly poisoning every sea creture that come into contact of that.
- allmost any unintented or intencionally ocean dumped plastic object (these days in the middle of Atlantic there is "a whole island made by melted or chemically altered plastic", its thickness to deepnes (believed or not) exceeds up to 2 km or 1,24 miles. Any sort of sea creature gets sick by eating tons that stuff every year. So, people, please put your soda bottles into proper recycle bins or dumpsters, not tossing them into nearest "puddle of water"!!!
- Other sort of littering, polluting or trashing non organic stuff thrown or left into waters or oceans (bicycles, bottle corks or caps, sodapop cans, cars, cigars or cigarette filters, trash bags etc. etc.)
- Gardening or plantation waste what has ended up into bigger rivers; including pesticides, masses of twigs and biggers branches or even chemical / chemically altered fertilizers (from mildest like "chicken or cow dung" [ye know, common poop] to a chemical compound concoctions usually containing heavy amounts, like some of these biccerings : Phosphorus (P), Iron (Fe), Borium (B), Selenium (Se) & Sulphur (S).
- False rumors, wrong kind of attitude or media release, overpulation and over sea / beach tourism.
Bright side your a very smart cookie
If they had done that to a person, cut their feet off and dumped the body, what would happen? Give animals the same protections afforded humans, or at least try to get close.....
Isn’t it obvious?
ISNT IT
READY TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!
