Chicken works for scavengers like crabs. Sharks are predators. They want what they know they like. Have you ever tried big whiting? Works great around the Daytona area.

Yes.. THEY DO EAT CHICKEN! I usually catch shark using the whole chicken. What I actually do is to cut the chicken's neck only.. then hook it with its feathers still on.

Cut my finger last Friday night. Went to cast went to far back caught the pier deck,but, kept going forward not knowing I was caught and 50lb braid sliced into my finger to the nail on one side

I have done exactly the same thing. Silent screams of agony. I always wear a Finger Stall now or put a Band aide around finger and that stops the Braid cutting in.
