I could have bought a warehouse, bought some paper, pencils and a ruler, bought some plastic, designed a mask on the paper, and built the mask in the time it took for you to make your point.
I got through 5 minutes and 33 seconds of your video before giving up.

Seems you missed a headline about this mask, second thing that sucks about it: You may die.
Damn,i cant remember specifically, but it was a coral reef at Egypt

Me: THOT
If goggles were anti-fog, then were did the beach go?
A few tips.
Fog: use toothpaste and rub it for a few minutes. When that doesn't work use a lighter and burn off the layer off silicone protection (i do it with my diving masks) and always spit in the mask before entering the water.
Clearing: there are some other ways to clear your ears. The first is what you did with your nose. The second is swallowing and the third is moving your jaws.
And for the beard: use some vaseline or something alike and rub it in your beard. The vaseline should help you seal off your mask.

I hope you have a good new year.

1. It's never fogged. Not once. The seal is perfect around my face.
2. Yes breathing is slightly restrictive. A lot has to do with that safety ball on top to stop water ingress.
3. Yours came in a zip lock bag? That seems dodgy to me.. mine was fully boxed and sealed.
And to the video creator... don't use clickbait. You'll get less views, but you'll attract less assholes like me. Wish you the best of luck with your endeavors.
just got it fixed yesterday
but mate, most people have picked it up, the high pitch starts at around 1:19 and kind of starts going on and off. I have no idea what causes it.
Try a different camera and upload something, make a comment so people can mention if they hear it. You'll need to deal with this, since if the sound on your videos are up shit creek, then people will be very reluctant to continue listening.
appropriate course of action: chop that shit up
Ya, like yourself m8 lol
I agree ; leaving trash on places like beach or forest instead of taking them with you back and putting to bin, is not right. Also, the very same people will say, if you ask them, that they love to go to clean nice nature places, and don't like siting around among trash. Where's the logic? Anyway, I've never gone snurkling nor diving. Came here 'cosI love to see the nature as is. And you show a nice place indeed.
Oh sorry. That sucks. That other snorkel you reviewed looks cool though....the one where the water drips out of the bottom.
No more purging. lol.

Thats a shame. Hopefully they get back at some point.
Is not easy but is possible. Some kind of swallow your own spit compressing with inner nose around muscles.
Fortunately it grows back, hopefully anyway.
13 minute long video about 1 problem
Especially swimming. Literally everything there kills you
WTF?
How about a Home Brewed "Drinkie-Poo!"
No thanks, I got my own Shit! I don't ever envisage drinking Poo!
Good that you're getting some time away from the Kids mate!
Obviously you didn't drop them off at the Pool!
OK! ..... you could have saved a bit of Lollie, by Looking at the Item and asking the correct questions.
1.) Clearing and un-fogging the mask underwater is always going to be a bit
of problem since a valsalva maneuver can't be correctly performed.
2.) Jaw wiggle might help to equalise, but but won't help with fogging!
Try Tooth Paste to prevent the Fogging.
3.) Condensation and CO2 Build-up are also potential problems of
extended use.
4.) As you correctly pointed out this Mask can't be used at depth and
if it were, the void / Dead space / volume is to much!
You would loose a lot of Air preventing Mask Squeeze!
Stay Safe, have a great Day ie-Poo mate and thanks for posting!
God Bless!!!
In regards to your other points, I did address these issues in a couple follow up videos here: https://youtu.be/qxJ58lQ_a-8 and here: https://youtu.be/2UHvFJ7zXnk
Thanks for stopping by man, I appreciate the support and thoughtful comment! :)
Also - spit on it generously, rub it in and then briefly flush it with a water and it will not fog. 99% of divers do it to their masks. Works a lot better than most commercial antifogs that You can buy.
Another way to equalize that would work with this mask is to turn one ear upward and massage your Eustachian tube in the hollow spot right below your ear.
And +1 on the spit for anti-fogging.
Doesn't this mask draw fresh incoming air over the inside of the lens like a gas mask ?
Thx for the vid mate. I was thinking about one of these but I don't think so now.
I did try a few different methods of equalisation here: https://youtu.be/qxJ58lQ_a-8 but it didn't work for me mate :(
can you breath easily with the mask? with my Aria ocean reef I cant get enough fresh air to breath. its like too tight the freshair line. I think its quite the same the airpipe in each of these fullmasks
I also recommend getting out of the habit of smearing your face with sun lotion and then leaving your mask on your greasy forehead while you sweat and steam during your time on the beach or at the surface and then going on to using your lotion-fingers to make it even worse when you rub the spit into the glass.
Masks should not fog up, period. It's a problem you should not have. If you do, you are doing something wrong.
Anyway, this is a bloody silly contraption. Crutches is not the way to around the challenges of the sea. They will let you down and leave you helpless or clueless when they eventually break or malfunction and you find yourself in a spot where you would not have gone without it to begin with.
Technique, procedure and training, as always is where it's at. Yes - putting in the hours and understanding your limitations.
Can totally see how the advertising on these products may work and how they may actually present a altered view of the reality of the product usage!
All told, as a consumer I bought the product, tested it and came away from the experience knowing it is not for me. (I actually gave mine away!)
Interestingly your sign off "Happy diving" probably should read "Happy snorkelling" :)
You too mate and sorry if I came off a bit harsh at first ;).
It sounds to me like you are displeased with the way things are, which is understandable - but that is simply where we are at with these practical technologies. There is no easy fix. If they tell you so - they are being salesmen about it. It appears, not too surprisingly, that this special gizmo did not solve the problem as expected or as advertized.
"My thoughts are: in general the average consumer is not going to go to such extremes to use this product, nor any other snorkel mask".
- It's hardly extreme cleaning a mask. This is standard practice, it's just that most people are not aware and consequently run into annoying problems.
"I can see how the above might be applied to scuba divers, but for snorkel?"
- My point is not about scuba vs. snorkling. It's about proper mask care and use. What I said about safety applies equally to both. Equipment malfunctions all the time. And if you do not have an answer as to what you are going to do if or when it happens to you - or a relative - it means you've gone beyond your limits. Safetywise I guess the morale is "don't put yourself in a situation you would not be able to handle without this mask".
"I don't think it's reasonable to assume someone will take all these measures into consideration before going in the water".
- Reasonable or not - these are the common reasons why people struggle with foggy masks (there are a few more, but hey). Personally I would just rather have a clear view than a foggy mask and eyes full of sunscreen. People often think it's the salt content of the water annoying their eyes but most of the time it's simply runny sunscreen that never had time to set. If it washes off - what good is it against the sun anyway?
I find it hard to believe this mask is even tempered glass which largely makes it a toy. We use tempered glass because plastic is prone to accumulating dirt, lime, bacteria and grease, getting scratches and consequently fogging up.
Finally let me take a moment to illustrate the salesmanship of creating problems and offering solutions that is practiced on the Aria homepage.
"Goodbye defoggers, hassles and lost opportunities to see the fish of a lifetime".
- Fog is not some random occurence or inevitable curse and you do not need commercial defoggers. Clean glass, a bit of saliva and no greasy contaminants due to wrong handling, will see you through easily and reliably. They make it seem like this is the only solution, when in fact there is an established practice that completely avoids the issue. But is it a good solution then?
"Aria’s breathing circulation inside the mask’s frame guarantees no fogging and no extra stress".
- This assumes that temperature difference is the root cause of the problem, probably playing off peoples experience with car windows. However clean glass is very unlikely to steam up. If you get VERY hot before going in - put a bit of water on your face to cool it down and dissolve the sweat before putting your mask on. Problem solved. But again - clean glass does not fog up. Usually a foggy mask is a greasy, dirty or limecovered one.
"Just take it out and jump in".
- Clearly that did not work. NO device will accept a faceload of grease.
"Goodbye jaw discomfort, goodbye difficult breathing and goodbye water in your snorkel. For good."
- Jaw discomfort is not caused by snorkles. It is the result of people being anxious and biting down or chewing on the snorkle, or possibly the snorkle being placed in some awkward position.
- This mask should have the same breathing resistance as any other snorkle, because the tube is the same lenght. It's not about mouth vs. nose breathing.
"With Aria you breathe through your nose, while the dry top prevents water from getting in the snorkles".
- Nose breathing is great in yoga class but generally a bad habit at sea. In terms of malfunction - mouth is an airway you can control. The nose is not (for most people).
- The dry top technology is also available for regular snorkles. The potential, if unlikely, danger of this gimmick is that the ball may get stuck if say a piece of sea weed enters the opening, fixing the ball in the "closed" position and sealing off the tube.
"AUGMENTS YOUR FIELD OF VISION, THE MOST! Aria has the largest field of vision of any mask out there".
- No doubt it has a nice field of vision, but curved glass also distorts shape and size and contributes to obscuring the sense of distance to objects.
- The main thing that decides your field of vision in normal masks is not how wide they are, but how close the glass is to your face. Many small hunting masks will have the same F.O.V as wider but "deeper" masks. And it is usually quite sufficient. Some masks have side windows as well if that's what you want.
"To that we added light colors for the brightest experience ever".
- Actually the trouble most people have is not darkness or dim light. It is an inability to focus because of the unusual situation, the dimming or confusion of the other senses and in fact the stress of bright light on the eyes from reflected sunlight. This is why spear fishers favour black silicone - the shady framing aids focus and concentration, whereas increased brightness can confuse or stress the eye, especially in sunny conditions close to the surface.
Anyway - I don't want to needlessly drone on about this you have a channel to run, I just felt like I needed to clarify, so there it is. And I wanted to show how the advertzing creates problems to seem to offer solutions. Just for whoever is interested.
Happy diving.
Some very valid points to consider that's for sure. My thoughts are: in general the average consumer is not going to go to such extremes to use this product, nor any other snorkel mask. I can see how the above might be applied to scuba divers, but for snorkel? I don't think it's reasonable to assume someone will take all these measures into consideration before going in the water.
Be that as it is, I appreciate you outlining your thoughts! Cheers again man!
"This mask is advertised as anti-fog: to me (and to any other consumer)"
- In my opinion this is clearly unrealistic. Any surface not treated right is likely to fog up sooner or later - so bad advertizing, bordering on the irresponsible and certainly venturing into the territory of the annoying. We can't disagree on that. But I will say that it's simply not a realistic expectation to have. And after all, regular masks are fairly easy to maintain. I never have problems - but I also do things to avoid it.
"Why should anyone even have toothpaste with them at the ocean?"
- You do this at home not at the ocean. A small dot of paste and then you rub with your fingers. Removing all of the paste takes a bit of work and you want to be real thorough. Use hot water first and then cold. Make sure nothing is left under the silicon at the edge. You don't want tooth paste in your eyes. There is nothing to disagree with here on a general note, it is standard procedure, ask any diving professional. As long as you are dealing with tempered glass you can also use a lighter to heat the glass. then the stuff will dissipate. But the hot glass may melt the silicone if you don't have the feel for the process. Maybe this thingy came with different instructions. Maybe it's not tempered glass (in which case screw it).
"Here in Australia, in the summer (and most of the rest of the year) you ABSOLUTELY need to apply sun lotion. There is no way around this. The sun is a killer here and products designed to be used in the waters off Australia need to factor that people will have suncream on their faces".
- It's no different from the places where I dive. You simply have to make the dive a priority over your beach bumming. There are two fixes: Put on the sun lotion a good long time before you hit the beach - or the water at least so it's properly absorbed. After that - make sure you don't sweat into your mask or make skin contact with the glass. Also try not to flood your mask while diving so that the lotion may dissolve and get in your eyes as well as on the glass. After you put on lotion - THOROUGHLY wash your hands with soap so you have clean fingers. Second solution is don't put it on your face and hands until after the dive and stay in the shade the rest of the time. Make the dive a priority. I know of no proper mask that will accept a greasy layer of lotion and not fog up. It's just physics. The sediment catches the water droplets and causes fogging. Again - there is nothing to disagree with here - it's just the reality of it. You may simply have to lower your expectations and accept what a mask is.
"And "Technique, procedure and training, as always is where it's at" - all three of these things your average snorkelling consumer (who this product is aimed at) will not have, nor will they be interested in. All they want is a quick and easy solution to an age old problem".
- I agree. My point is simply that if you can't deal with that problem, which is after all fairly easy to address - you should not put yourself at risk going beyond the limits of that with some dubious crutch product. The sea is not forgiving. It is not consumer friendly. It is not an amusement park if you have no skill. If you rely solely on some gimmick for your safety - then you are in fact not safe. It's that simple. Professionals train for every conceivable potential malfunction know procedures on what to do in case any part of the equipment breaks down. This is what we all do. What you are suggesting as a good approach for the inexperienced is something that I would not embrace as a professional of many years with any piece of equipment I did not fully understand or one which would take me outside my comfort zone forcing me to rely on it with no redundancy.
The sea is not about quick fixes. If your product promises that - it's a bad product for the sea environment. Personally I would not recommend this outside of a shallow pool unless the person using it knew how to deal with a number of scenarios that immediately springs to mind. Which is why I dislike it.
This mask is advertised as anti-fog: to me (and to any other consumer) that reads as, open the packet and use it and there will be no fogging. There is no way you should have to do anything to the mask to stop any fogging up. Why should anyone even have toothpaste with them at the ocean?
Here in Australia, in the summer (and most of the rest of the year) you ABSOLUTELY need to apply sun lotion. There is no way around this. The sun is a killer here and products designed to be used in the waters off Australia need to factor that people will have suncream on their faces.
And "Technique, procedure and training, as always is where it's at" - all three of these things your average snorkelling consumer (who this product is aimed at) will not have, nor will they be interested in. All they want is a quick and easy solution to an age old problem.
