Not really.
I have seen people going just for the boat ride or snorkeling at one dive site and resting the rest of the trip.

Ok, so I've previously snorkelled in Sharm el Sheikh where I found the reefs to be amazing, especially at Ras Mohammed NP & Shark's Bay.

My next stop was supposed to be Cozumel, although now I'm having second thoughts after seeing videos on Youtube. I can't see many fish and where are the reefs and coral!? So disappointing because Coz looks crap, at least compared to Sharm. It definitely does not compare yet I thought Coz was supposed to be one of the best places in the world for reefs and snorkelling!???

+hoopmillionaire2 10 videos really don't do it justice and a lot of things come into play like current, time out year, overcast, ect. It's beautiful and you should try. Then they will be able to give an honest take on your experience.

+TheMatrixPipe I disagree. I've watched about 10 Cozumel dive/snorkel videos now and the reefs just look really poor. It's very disappointing. I would say the reefs I snorkelled in Egypt had 10 x more fish and coral. The hurricane must have hit Cozumel hard!

Some of the reefs at Cozumel were decimated by hurricane Wilma back in 2005.
But, there are some which are still awesome with more than plenty fish.

obviously the camera person is a pervert who likes to stalk that teenager filming her butt and entertain a deviant sexual thought.
I am a certified diver and yes, this video was definitely recorded by an amateur who I recommend should take some therapy before he or she starts to act out his or her deviant thoughts. For the rest of the swimmers, yes, first timers but at least they are having fun.

Hey I'm sorry to read all the hate comments below. Its a oool video, all underwater or airborne camera videos offer life from a different perspective! Thank you for sharing :)
My first question was going to ask where you were but I see on closer observation Cozumel is in Mexico.
Is there any reason that girl is not wearing fins/flippers? I thought this was pretty essential when snorkelling unless practising in a swimming pool and even then people often do. She's braver than me!

why would you wear life jackets while snorkeling in SALT water. you don't even have to try to float and you still float, and if you want to dive down it is sorta hard with a life jacket.
Just takes away from the whole point in my mind

Having deviant thoughts is perfectly harmless. Forcing others to help carry them out is not. I have always preferred to be naked. I have used pools owned by Christian and Jewish organizations that allowed nude use. My high school required me to be nude. I go to Korean bathouse and they have nudity. Why am I required to wear swimwear. What if I am OK with nude photos? Go back to your Mosque.

Depends on where you are. I've snorkeled in Mahogany bay off the beach and ditched the jacket, but if your snorkeling off of a boat in the middle of the sea, you definitely want to keep it on when your boat takes off to get more people and is no where to be found for almost an hour.

O.K. Let's talk about the obvious. The first thing we see is that these people do not know how to swim. We know this by looking at the poor kicking technique. The camera person does not know how to handle a camera. He is jerking the camera around. So, for the rest of the people attempting such a feat, practice first , trial shots second, final shot then edit it, review, then show it on YouTube.

+TheMatrixPipe I snorkel regularly thank you very much. It's as the original commenter said, these people have no idea, but the person who filmed is only interested in filming the ass of the bikini girl - who can't even swim properly and is without fins. The amusing thing here is that the water appears calm. There is no heavy swell. Where I go snorkelling, I see kids of twelve using their GoPros to film and they do a better job swimming and filming. Oh wait, you posted the video?! Well better luck next time. Take the advice of Charles Clements. It's quite misleading to click on a video titled snorkelling in Cozumel, to only see a woman's ass 95% of the time.
