The land where she starts and exits is a park that belongs to the development I live in. I have been swimming there for almost 20 years and can assure you it is safe. As long as one does not antagonize native wildlife, it is fine. This is the best video I have seen showing the underwater world there.

Glad to see you got what you wanted. I remember my 1st bass boat a long time ago when you had to carry around 2, 6 gallon gas cans that was a Mon Ark MacFast 17 with a 115 Johnson. I went to do the break in and left the transom plug out it got so flooded with water the back end was sinking fast I turned her around an dropped the throttle and my buddy started bailing water with his shoe. Then we about burned it to the ground on lake Texhoma during the sand bass run. The big thing then was to drop lights in the water. The boat had 1 battery and the lights were connected to the battery via alagator clips. We were tied off the Rail Road bridge my 2 buddy's fell asleep about 3 AM I was up front an smelled electrical fire smoke. I lifted up the back hatch an poof air hit that smodering wires an flames blew up about 10 feet. I managed to get the fire extinguisher out dumped the whole contenand got it and a guy tied off next to use tossed his extinguisher an dumped its contents got the fire out. Just can't believe it did ignite the gas cans. Fire distroyed the wiring an we had to be towed in to catfish bay where my truck was. So yes mistakes are made!!? Good luck an just remember that boat stands for Break Out Another Thousand!!!

I know this comment is a month old, But no, gators don't come into that area because the water is to cold for them..
Where they were at is a live spring, and the river it creates is about 6 miles long, then it feeds into a warmer river called the Withlacoochee River, and there are gators in the Withlacoochee, but they do not go to far up the Rainbow River..
But more people swim in the Withlacoochee River every year, even tho' it has a lot of gators in it.. lol.. 99.999% of the time, gators run from humans..
