This demo will show you how to snorkel with a full face snorkel mask. Learning how to use the full face snorkel may take some getting used to, so make sure to test it in shallow water or a pool before you go into deep water. I like full face snorkel's because I can breath through my mouth or nose, I can see better under water and there is only one piece of equipment to handle instead of two (the mask and snorkel separately). Not good if you want to go UNDER the water. You can't equalise because you can't pinch your nose. No other method works to equalise even if they tell you so. If it can be made with flex material around the nose it would be good.

You can breath with nose and mouth with mask on while swimming just as I was swimming in video. (Not diving) Notice my head is in the water and snorkel is sticking out the water? That allows air in the mask so I can breath while swimming.

Eaindra Thet May Hi. No you cant breath if submerged 7 to 9 feet. You can only breath while swimming on top of water. The air comes through the snorkel so you must be swimming or floating to breath.

Adam Baudelaire have you used one yet? The full face masks are best for those who snorkel primarily on the surface of the water. I dont go under more than 10 to 20 ft, I am not a diver by any means. I just never have issues with equalizing even when I do go dive 15 ft or so with the mask, so that is just my experience. I can always use another method to equalize, but usually at such a shallow depth, I dont really have an issue. But if someone finds equalizing an issue and they love to free dive a lot and at deeper depths, then of course the traditional snorkel mask should be used. Again, the full face masks are best for those who snorkel primarily on the surface of the water.

lol the likelyhood of you getting bitten by a shark is very slim, don't worry! Plus, in Cancun you will probably see lots of fish without having to go out in the water very far. Just snorkel close to shore from the beach...Have fun with the mask, there is more than one good one. My favorite is the Tribord so far, but not sure how that would work with glasses. Anyway, have fun on your trip!

We just purchased the Seaview 180 and have yet to try it out. We will be going to Cancun in March and will do so then. I am not much of a snorkeler...lol as I do not want to bitten by a shark but I will try it out so we can maybe get some good shells at the beach. I will look at your other review...thanks. I didn't go with the Tribord because it said it was not a good mask to wear glasses with.

Not sure if it is a knock off but the masks have a lot of similarities. My favorite so far is the Tribord Snorkel which I reviewed on the channel also. I may get the Seaview 180 to test out. Have you tried the Seaview? I am also interested in the Area Full Face Snorkel for my next trip in December.

Anthony Smith It should suck to your face a little for a tight seal, since this seals out water, but it shouldnt get too much tighter on your face as you continue to breath. Some masks are better than others with ventaliation.

DaphyD_Adventures some are as low as $50 and they can be as high as 90. If you snorkel and travel a lot, it will save you in the long run to buy your own because you wont have to rent equiptment... plus rented equitment and the ones they have on tours are not very good. I snorkel from the beach when travel so ita convenient to have my own gear so I can snorkel whenever I want.. and not have to pay a tour to take me.

DaphyD_Adventures The full face masks are lot easier to use and they dont leak. You just have to make sure you have the right size. I prefer them over regular snorkels now.
