My wife and I were kayaking and snorkeling at Perdido Pass in Orange Beach AL and came across a black tip shark (2:25). We also saw lots of tropical fish. Destin is a great place to snorkel for the first time. Use Google maps and go to the east jetty at the pass. The water is clear and beautiful and you snorkel right of the beach.

Ok i have a question. is it possible to get to these areas or similar areas? were driving down from tenn to gulf shores in june. is there like a place to park a car and get in the water to snorkel? or do we have to book a trip?

+BEAVIS In Orange Beach you can park near the bridge and snorkel from shore or the jetty if you have a way to get out to it such as a kayak or raft. For really nice shore snorkeling you can go to Destin east pass jetty (O'Steen Beach Access) or Panama City Beach (St Andrews State Park jetty).

TheToneman - Gulf Coast Snorkeling Great video! Were headed to Gulf Shores the first week of June. We love to snorkel at the beach. We use the "Tribord" full faced snorkel mask. I need a GoPro, but they're so expensive!

did you use anything to attach the go pro or are you just holding it? I am looking into getting one and don't exactly know how everything works!

+Jenna Kock I use a GoPole EVO.. it's a clear extension pole that floats and the camera mounts to the end. I used to mount the GoPro camera to my mask, but I found the pole works better for following fish and getting closer to the action. Have fun!

+GoProGalecki I have lived her 6 years and that was my first face to face encounter. That structure was the boating dock behind the Colbalt restaurant under the bridge. We park just past the restaurant and offload the kayaks there... less of a walk :)
