I just bought the Lifeproof case for my Samsung S8 plus and tried it out today at the beach trying to record but the touch screen doesn't even work to record it goes all over the place a different sort of apps how do you record with a LifeProof case if the touch screen doesnt work underwater? Please these cases aren't cheap and I bought it for the whole point of going snorkeling and bringing it on my cruise to take videos under the water.

Tried emailing them multiple times about mine that broke and never received a message back. I like my life proof case better but I am going back to OtterBox for better customer service. When my OtterBox broke I had no problem getting in touch with them and having one shipped out for free

I recently bought the case for my iPhone 5c, and tried it out underwater. Everything seemed fine but when I tried to charge it, it would charge very slowly. It'll probably go up two percent an hour. But everything else works perfectly, the screen and even the sound works, but I'm confused why and I'll take it up to my service provider and ask and see if they can do anything about it.

UPDATE: I went to Sprint, couldn't find any water inside the phone.they did some tests on it for about an hour and a half and couldn't find out what was going on. They shipped me a new phone for free.

i took mine scuba diving by accident. i went about 55 feet under when i realized it was in my pocket. in florida the water is nice and warm, not alot of people use wetsuits. i didnt have an issue with the case or the phone. i was under for about 5 minutes before i found it. lifeproof is amazing. since then ive had just about every one i dive with and my wife get a lifeproof. im getting a galaxy s3 from work tomorow and i cant wait to get a lifeproof fre for it.

@Joshtsao93 the popping sounds you hear is actually the sound of the coral or other life forms that are under the water making small electrical pulses. It's actually very neat if you hear it in person! :D The only thing i don't like about the oceans is the plankton actually bite and leave marks

The crackling sounds are tiny snapping shrimps. They are everywhere and not just in Australia. I heard them also in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, where I did recording as well with my iPhone 4s. They are intense because the buggers are right up against the case as you record and next to that audio input. But you won't really notice them while you snorkel. Nothing to worry up!

@ProGameable No case manufacturer guarantees the phone. This does not show a lack of confidence in the product, but rather a perfect understanding that such an unsupportable warranty would require an exorbitant cost on the case. To properly warranty the case and the phone, you would have to pay about $300. The LifeProof site specifically says to test the case against water for an extended period before putting the phone in, and to be aware that the gaskets have a limited number of uses.

@EosforosGR The iPhone is designed to work capacitively so it thinks the water is one big finger and wont work underwater. You can however take pictures with the volume buttons using iOS 5 or starting videos above water.

Got mine today. Screens kinda awkward w the air trapped in it. I've tried several times to clear it by pressing it against my chest,as they suggest. But it is definitely water proof

@klwnw Apple designed the iPhone to work capacitively so it doesn't work underwater. You can take videos and screen shots of the videos. The new ios5 software will allow photos to be taken with the volume buttons though.

@nimaaminnima1984 No, the iPhone will not crack at 6 feet. We just want to ensure you have an adequate margin of safety so that the seals are not over-pressured. We test each case in the factory at 10 feet to stress-test it. We recommend not exceeding 6.6 feet to avoid disappointment.

@robroyaus It is the shellfish and mussels making that crackling sound. You can hear it loudly with your ears in the water too. Quite a sensation as the noise seems to penetrate your bones.

@brokeasabitch You can press the home button but the touch screen does not respond underwater as it sees the underwater as one big fat finger touching it all the time. However you can start recording above water then keep it recording while you are under water.
