+jaylen king Yeah it's a fun hobby with sweet rewards! Basically its best to hunt around popular swimming areas, or if you do some research, hunt in areas that used to be popular. Old popular spots can reveal some awesome antique type items. It's good to hunt around a fresh cut, which means the water recently cleared some smaller surface rocks to reveal larger rocks that were once below the surface. Good items tend to find there way next to those larger rocks. Also if there's flat bedrock, its good to look within cracks and crevices that are within the bedrock. Items move along the bedrock until they get caught in a crack, and then stay put. Good luck!

Hey, I have never metal detected and really want to get into doing it in my spare time. I found a good deal i think on amazon for 600. The new at pro, a bag, hat and some tools. But Is there a better/cheeper metal detector? I cant afford 300+ metal detector

+MUDSWAT I guess just always pay attention to the current in the rivers. If there's a good spot you wanna hit, but the water is moving too fast, you're gonna lose your target as soon as you find it. Always check water level websites...that sweet spot may be better attainable at one certain point of the year more than any other... Good luck!

i just got my detector and have been out 3 days in a row, now i understand why people get so happy when they find coins i get about 90% junk, nice gloves i use the same gloves while detecting, i am a mechanic and we use them at work aswell.

+Kayak Leviathan I've taken it to a beach once, and one time ocean-snorkeling so far (I do plan many more trips tho). Weather conditions weren't favorable to be out long either time, but it worked pretty well for the little time I got in. A little chattering here and there, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. It's built extremely well for freshwater, and very decent for saltwater. If going hunting saltwater more than freshwater, I would invest in more of an Excalibur type of machine. DetectorPro has a newer underwater machine....I'm curious about it's abilities in saltwater as it would be a very easy machine to transport on trips.

I just bought a tiger shark. the box had some silicon looking stuff, but the manual does not say how to remove the ring without damaging it. How do you remove yours?

+kingorbit I've never tried to remove the ring. Every time I open the housing (which is rarely), I thoroughly wipe down the exposed part of the O-ring and make sure it is free of particles. Then I apply a very thin coat of the silicone. Congrats on your purchase, and best of luck!!

What thickness of wetsuit do you wear?

+Ozarkshunter I wear a 3/5mm wetsuit, 5mm boots, 5mm hood, and vary between 1, 5 and 7mm gloves. In deep winter I'll also under-layer. It's a workout putting on and taking off all that stuff, but it's worth it!
