Love your vids so far. If you can do something special for me that would make my day. No Joke. Actually it will make me the happiest person ever. I am 13 years old and really wanted to try the WildHorn Outfitters. U have the exact color I wanted and now they don’t sell as of now. Is there any possible way u could retrieve the scuba mask back and send it to me for me to have. That who make me your number #1 fan. I subbed, liked, and pushed notification bell. If u really can make this come true, and you would yes to it. I would send you my address. You deserve more subs and never give up in life

On the surface, a reg is 'easier' to breathe from than a snorkel, so I cannot imagine how the difference between the dead air would be to a full-face mask and a snorkel, stale air/CO2 wise. These full-face masks seemed to be only bought by people frightened silly of even putting their head underwater, far less snorkeling: perhaps they should not be sold to anyone?
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
I somewhat agree Jelly. My thoughts are these masks are suitable for inexperienced snorkelers who are in the water with FULL supervision. The person supervising should also be equipped with CPR skills should anything go wrong.

First of all, its obvious you have nothing to do with water. Ok. You are a weak swimmer, don't feel the water, never was, and you are one of these people who just test something wrong, and blame the product. Just look how loose your mask is: 9:18. Also, its obvious because the mask is loose, the water is leaking 5:42. I am having the same mask - perfect. I intentionally blew hot air to test the fogging - its gone within seconds. You must adjust the mask, and put the bottom of the mask under your chin. Then you must adjust the tightness and where you position the mask according to your face. Not just flap it loose, and then : OMG its not working for me. Same with swimming goggles. You adjust them based on your skull and eyes, and you tight the band. Not just pur them on with loose band and then complain it doesn't work. I have had 1000's of people who have 0% swimming experience, complaining for the same thing.

Lokra
Lokra - 6 years ago
Dont need to know you personally to see how you move in the water, and your body structure. You are not a swimmer, never was. You said it yourself: "I've been around the ocean and water". Exactly you have been AROUND, not in the ocean. You can't just put the mask like that. I have the same mask, and it takes me couple of adjustments to fit perfectly. You just put it without any adjustments, and the stripes are loose. Its obvious. Its more obvious when you see how your mask is leaking when its not adjusted properly. And also this is the same on the other video. I need a second to see who is natural with water and who isn't. And you are not, sorry to break it to you. It doesnt matter you have been born in australia. Not everybody got it.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks Lokra. I'm an Aussie and I've been around the ocean and water since the day I was born, but cheers anyway. Would you consider someone who lap swims for fitness a weak swimmer? Ok cools. And the mask isn't loose on my head, if you've ever tried one you will know that the straps are very elastic so you actually have a lot of movement with them as you slide the mask over your head.
Thanks for your thoughts, but if you are going to make massive claims like this with zero knowledge of who I am you are going to be wrong.

The Aria by Ocean Reef was one of the fist full face snorkel mask. Try that one and see the difference. You are using a "made in China" version of this mask. It is probably not made well. For equalizing using the Valsava Maneuver (pinching your nose), is mostly bad technique that prevents people from successfully equalizing. If you have a very narrow Eustachian tube, that my be you physiology that makes it hard or impossible. You are not blowing air from your lungs to your middle ear. By doing this maneuver, you simply forcing your Eustachian tube to open and by doing that, allowing air at ambient pressure, to travel from your throat and into your middle ear, thus allowing it to equalize.

If you felt like its getting hard to breath, like you were breathing CO2, then the mask is not built right and shouldn't be used. The are s lot of "fake" masks out there. Be careful, as you can pass out on the surface and drown. It could happen without warning!

It could be a number of reasons why you couldn't defog the mask. That shouldn't be a big deal though. Google how to defog a diving mask and you will fine all the help you need.

Nice video, thanks!
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks very much Samuel :) I have seen a bunch of the knock off products out there and I understand the Tribord was the first to market of these masks. I was in talks with them to test their mask, however they have since pulled the pin on that video.

As for equalising, I've tried a whole bunch of options and have come to the conclusion that I cannot do this underwater without pinching my nose. All good tho, there are other products out there which allow snorkelling and equalising with the nose pinch method so I will stick to them :)

I've heard many methods for defogging. I guess everyone has their own technique!

Thanks for stopping by with your thoughts mate! :)

Do not use any chemicals, they pollute the waters. It's selfish and irresponsible of you. Just for a few minutes of your pleasure you contribute to pollution of the waters you swim in!!!
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
I haven't used any chemicals yet (aside from the the ones that are used to manufacture the product!) but to present the other side of your argument: the ratio of chemical to ocean water even if every person on the planet went snorkeling would be sooooo minimal I fail to see how it would be a factor. Add to this a great number of dish liquids and anti fog solutions are 100% biodegradable, but anyway cheers for your thoughts :)

The problem is this mask - its one of three patents, i.e.; basically "generations". The other versions are the Tribord and the Aria. The new generation that has overcome the fogging issue is the Aria by Ocean Reef, about $ 120.00 US. We have used ours extensively for nearly 100 hours in Maui, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Lucia and Martinique, all without fogging issues. You do not, and must not, use any materials or coatings to prevent fogging, just mild detergent and cleaning with clear water. The only US Ocean Reef reps are here in nearby San Marcos, California, and this is the explanation the Italian-based representatives provide. They give outstanding customer service, a 2-year no-questions warranty, and a great pro-quality product. We heartily recommend them over the other older versions of the full-face mask. As with any full-face mask, these are limited to about 12-feet and less surface snorkeling as equalization is only overcome with $400 diving masks that have internal paddles to equalize pressure.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks Charles. The only problem I can see with these masks is the hyperventilation issue. It doesn't really matter if the mask is the original or a copy, the re-cycled breathing issue is a real danger and should not be considered lightly.
KWH
KWH - 6 years ago
I have the product from the company that invented this design, Decathlon, and it doesn't fog up. For equalizing at shallow depth a very hard swallow works.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
I did try swallowing mate, it didn't work for me :( Also, I was in talks with Tribord to review their unit (the original) but the talks ended quiet abruptly :(

I think the idea of the mask is to be able to breathe normally. So you shouldn't be expelling air out of your mouth but just breathing normally.

The way I'm able to equalize pressure without using my hands is to flex my ear canals sort of. It's a very similar feeling to as if you were yawning with your mouth closed. The tensing of your ear canals before expelling air during the yawn is the feeling you are looking for. If you can simulate that without actually yawning then it should equalize your ears for you.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks Dark :) The thing is, breathing normally entails expelling air out of your mouth!

What do you think? i have appreciated your feedback on the product so far! It seems there is loads to improve.

CO2 buildup is the deal breaker. Leads to increased breathing rate which leads to increased heart rate. Then the heavyset dude who doesn't swim very well has a heart attack. And you cant hear him screaming cuz his mouth is covered. I do NOT allow these on the boat. Sorry. Not sorry.
Komainu
Komainu - 6 years ago
CO2 build up occurs regardless of snorkel type. The number one danger to snorkeling is that people are not in good enough condition, are not familiar with ocean conditions and are not familiar with their gear...especially on how to react when that gear or the user has a problem.

Try screaming for help if you fail to "clear" a regular snorkel and gulp down water instead.

Guess what the number one killer of tourist to Hawaii was for over the past 10 years...yep snorkeling. Before full face masks we're even a thing. So yes, be cautious since CO2 build up is a thing and who knows maybe full face is worse, especially with a cheaper knockoff mask. But if you plan on snorkeling being prepared is far more important.

Your not alone. The only way I can equalize underwater is holding noise. I've tried all these other methods which I desperately hoped would work with no luck. Thing is blowing through the nose takes more energy then the other methods and prevents me from diving deeper I believe. Great videos!

I use to work at a place that required me to wear a full face respirator for 10hr shifts Monday thru Friday. I wear glasses and had to use these special inserts that had glasses affixed to them in my respirator. I had issues with the respirator and glasses fogging up all the time. I remember when I was younger my grandmother told me "if you don't want your bathroom mirror fogging up put a tiny bit of shaving cream on it". So that's what I did to my respirator and glasses. The thing is you just use a tiny amount of shaving cream, and you rub it all over the inside until it disappears. Don't wash it out. And you don't go full reeeeee with the shaving cream either like you did with the toothpaste. The object to putting the spit, toothpaste, or shaving cream is to have a barrier on the glass preventing it from fogging up. How did that concept go over your head, when you thought it was a good idea to wash it out?
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks Goddogo. I was told to apply the toothpaste and then rinse it off. I was also told by other experts to not rinse it off. I was also told to only use toothpaste, then I was told to never use toothpaste... it seems like there are multiple people swearing by different methods.

Couldn't you chew gum whilst wearing that mask? That always works to equalize when driving through the mountains.

Any excess movement of your mouth (and possible air that it creates) will end up in more fogging on the inside of the mask from what I could tell.

So when acquiring a new dive mask which usually have glass lenses, you would rub some WHITE toothpaste with a tiny bit of water on each lens, rubbing it thoroughly with your finger, rinse and repeat about 5 times... then once you go to dive, use baby shampoo or dish soap, a little drop on each side, leave it to sit a few mins, then rinse out, but don't be TOO thorough about the rinsing! If it's spit don't even both rinsing it..
Of course, that mask had a plastic lens of probably dubious quality but I doubt the toothpaste would have had a negative impact on it.. the idea is the toothpaste removes the protective layer that's placed on at production time, and the soap is to stop fog building up on the lens..
but yeah, that mask looks like an overall bad idea! There are dive masks that have great visibility, and don't complicate things, take a look at a Hollis M1 mask.. I fully recommend it!
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Interesting, I've heard dive masters swear against toothpaste as it is abrasive. Ultimately there seems to be many different ways to achieve a result, but the idea of a mask being "anti-fog" off the shelf just doesn't seem plausible. Cheers for the tip on the Hollis https://www.hollis.com/mask-m-1/ it really does look like a great mask!!
Bob Jones
Bob Jones - 6 years ago
This is why traditional masks are superior. BTW you don't use the toothpaste with the water; you just put the toothpaste on a dry mask and afterwards gently wash it out with fresh water. If the mask is glass rather than polycarbonate this method should work.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Agree Bob. This thing is a gimmick (and a dangerous one also!) Glad I gave mine away!
Bob Jones
Bob Jones - 6 years ago
GivesAMinute yeah, that happens. That's why just a normal mask you can actually equalize in is much better. Even if there was a model for it, you wouldn't be able to use something like this scuba diving because you can't equalize. With a normal mask with glass, using the toothpaste first and later spitting to keep it clear whenever you want to go in works like a charm. These things are just gaudy
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Ahh I see, yeah pretty sure these things are plastic through and through :(
Bob Jones
Bob Jones - 6 years ago
GivesAMinute yeah. But conditioning a new mask is more of a thing you do before you go out. But still, if it's polycarbonate rather than glass it really won't work

I wish you would, the world already has too many complete fools. You must be completely idiotic not to work out that you can't breath air through a snorkel when it is underwater. Other than the tiny amount in the snorkel before it floods.
Kristeen Izzio
Kristeen Izzio - 6 years ago
I always knew you couldn't breathe with a snorkel underwater, but what brought me here is because I thought maybe I didn't know how to do it properly. I guess my question is , what is the purpose of using a snorkle? If you have to come back up to the surface anyways to breathe, it kind of seems restrictive? Why not just use goggles? I'm genuinely asking here lol? Is there other benefits to using the snorkle? Like not disturbing the fish as much as would when coming up for air every few second?

I'd say there is a bunch of us there that cannot do it! It's funny hearing everyone try to explain how it's done because everyone's anatomy is different. I can wiggle my hair and ears but I cannot equalise without holding my nose (while underwater). Bizarre. As for your other question I cannot really recommend any of these full face masks as I don't think they are all that safe.

If your glass is rinsed by water than the anti fog components are rinsed away as well. To prevent that to happen you should not let water inside, which is really difficult to manage. Same thing with spitting. When you spit, why rinse it? It doesn't make sense. After spitting, cover all the area and use it without rinsing the mask. I use the same method for swim wear goggles and it works perfectly fine. It may fog up after several hours, then spit again. Btw, that's a nice view.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks mate, the thing is I did try that method (no water on the mask at all) the very first time I opened it and used it: https://youtu.be/mtwUcQgIqns but it fogged up even that time! I'm disappointed in the mask for a number of reasons the claim that it is "anti-fog" is just one of them :)

It fogged cuz it was wet. Every time you put it on, and your face and the mask must be wet

equalise by blocking the snorkel with your hand and blowing?
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Even if this were correct it would take 3 to 4 massive breaths out (depending on the size of your lungs) to "fill" the mask as you suggest. And if you could somehow "block" the top of the snorkel with your hand you are then not factoring in the air that is pushed out the bottom of the mask.

If you haven't used one of these masks the air you expel is removed from both the snorkel and the part of the mask that goes over your chin area.

So, yeah, a nice idea but not practical or possible.
Jack Snow
Jack Snow - 6 years ago
GivesAMinute but look, if you block the snorkel, the sir has nowhere to go
it increases the pressure, so the mask is like your nose extension thing kind of
maybe
because when you seal your nose and blow, you increase the pressure inside your (thing inside your forehead I don't know how to call) and as your nose is sealed the only possible ways of exiting your body is thorough the ears

theoretically it should work then
yet I don't have the mask so I can't test it, if I had it I would have tested it before writing the comment but ye, sorry
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
There's no way this is a reasonable solution. To fill the mask with enough air while holding the snorkel sealed tight just is not practical or possible.

I've got a full face mask, some random make? My wife gets on great with hers just pootling gently and breathing through her mouth. On my first outing with it it seemed ok but after a while it began fogging badly. I would just breath through my nose too. The second time I used it I smeared it with washing up liquid and this worked great. However this time I just couldn't get sufficient air and after about 1min I was getting out of breath and had to take it off. Even just sat with it on I would struggle to breadth after a moment. I've decided to get a conventional mask and snorkel (would like a power breather but I'm not paying £100 for one

Leslie Franklin
Leslie Franklin - 6 years ago
A few things. 1. When I snorkel, I use one or two drops of baby shampoo to keep the mask from fogging up. It works well and is biodegradable. 2. That type of mask holds a lot of air making it much more difficult to dive in the first place. 3. The mask should have two tubes, one for inhale and the other for exhale. There should be a valve on each to make the air go in the right direction. Check to see that the valves are working properly. 4. I guess I'm one of the lucky people who can equalize pressure on demand without holding my nose, wiggling my jaw, swallowing, etc. I'm not sure how to tell someone else how to do it. I guess it's kind of similar to some people who can wiggle their ears, which I can't do.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks a lot Leslie. I hear you on the baby shampoo. A lot of people have been recommending this to me so I will try it soon. I've since made a video featuring another product that in my opinion far outweighs the Seaview 180: https://youtu.be/nB0wMeYczFE

try trusting your jaw when im scuba diving i hate grabbing my nose i like to take a gum so im purely focused on my diving experience its easier to control your breathing and lower you heart beat so you use less oxygen while swimming andd the best way to compensate is thrusting your jaw down like you take a bif bite of a burger it makes you opening from you throat to your ears open for a split second which evens the pressure

I recommend taking mucinex dm not just to clear your sinuses but also your lungs. take a 12 dose one hour to an hour and a half before going in (take it on the go to make it easier) blow your nose consistently until you sinusis clear out over the laps of this hour. If youhave ashma medicate accordingly as well. reduce lung fatigue this way and relieve sinus pressure on your ear drums aswell. Sinus patients can't become fighter pilots with out a type of surgery meant to keep their ears from exploding, and it all leads to congestion. Also congeston isn't always a runny swollen nose. Oftenit's compacted mucus in some parts of your nasal passages deep with your skull; you could be breathing just fine and can still be greatly congested. one way to tell is to take basic sinus medication while you seem to be breathing fine (like Sudafed) wait 30 minutes then blow your nose. Then compare your personal hearing quality before and after blowig your nose. In my case, a severe patient myself, the difference is between feeling deaf and then suddenly hearing my neighbor whispering about how they hate my guard dog and they actually live across the street from me and whisper there.

Ear plugs, ???? these are a definite no no for diving or snorkeling. External water pressure would drive the plugs into your ears, you would not like that one bit !!!

But it's not the water entering the ear that is the problem - the pressure of the water at depth is the concern....

Siveon Farcloud
Siveon Farcloud - 6 years ago
If the problem is the fogging when you exhale, due to the temperature difference between the hotter air and the cold visor, then that's a design flaw that is easily fixed by them. All they have to do is put a 1-way valve between the visor section and the mouth section. (note: they may also need to put a 1-way valve in the mouth section for the air to come out while exhaling)

You're welcome. I just did a search for "shaving cream fog" on youtube and there is a lot of videos of people using it on mirror, windshields, goggles even helmet visors... so the odds of it working on the diving mask should be high, just make sure you clean it really well with a dry cloth or paper towel until there's no blur. The question now is whether the salt water will have an impact on or not in the effectiveness of the cream, because some water will get in sooner or later :D
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago

Siveon Farcloud

To be perfectly honest there are a lot of companies that do not bother to hire people with knowledge such as scientists and engineers to help and make their products. If you want to see some good examples there's a playlist named "Thunderf00t versus pseudoscience", where a youtuber who's an actual scientist debunks many critically acclaimed products by the media and explains why they don't work as advertised.

PS: Not sure if you read my tip at the end about the shaving-cream, I know it was a rather long read.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
I wonder why (with this information) not one manufacturer has ben able to successfully create a product that does not fog up? I mean, man on the moon and all... It's pretty baffling! :) Thanks for the explanation man. I do have direct contact with a couple of different companies, I will pass these ideas on :)
Siveon Farcloud
Siveon Farcloud - 6 years ago
Oh thanks for the reply. I can be more specific if you want to understand why it fogs. The "fog" is actually water that build up in the visor due to condensation much like water forms on a cold glass.

Why this happens is actually very simple, hotter air can absorb more water than cold. When the air is in our lungs it gets hot due to our body temperature and it becomes more humid, when we exhale the now hotter air touches a cold visor (because it's in contact with the cooler water) it cools down releasing some water with it. You don't need to exhale for this to happen, even with just visor the heat provided by your skin combined by the water from the eyes and/or sweat can make the visor fog up, but the principle is the same.

Adding the 1-way valve would not only stop the visor from fogging due to the exhale, it would also reduce the amount of re-breathing you do since the volume of the mouth section is much smaller. The fact that the air intake comes from the visor also means that constant flow of new air coming in would also prevent the visor from fogging from the perspiration around the eyes.

In any case, you seem to be in contact with these companies, you could pass on this "idea", maybe they'll make a prototype and send it your way or who knows maybe you'll get something else from it.

I also got a little trick to avoid the fogging. I've never used it in visors, but I've done it in the bathroom mirror to avoid the condensation from hot showers and it worked: put some shaving cream on it, spread it around and clean it with a dry paper towel, it lasted a couple of weeks on a mirror I don't see why it wouldn't work on a visor.

I think the problem is not just restricted to the temperature of the water or the air, but this is a good idea!
Ryan Cowan

Great video. Equalizing pressure in your ears will depend on your sinuses. Some people have better anatomy that makes it easier to force the air in your lungs into your ears using the methods you've been attempting, but some people just can't do it. Saliva definitely does work well as an anti-fog measure, but you can't rinse it all out. Some has to stay on the glass. Just use a little water to get the excess off so you have it running off the mask and onto your face before you put it on
GivesAMinute

GivesAMinute I rub mine around and then just do a quick rinse to get rid of the excess. You don't want too much in to distort your vision. Just enough to coat the inside of the lens. This is the trick what most triathletes do for both practice and race. Last race was 1.5k in 53f water and zero fogging issues. Also used the trick in warmer water and same results for over 1hr swims.

You. You said don't redesign something that already works, but you think the very first person to design a snorkel device landed directly at what you refer to as the "traditional snorkel"? I recently bought one similar to this although a different brand. I watch plenty of reviews. with positive remarks outside of being able to equalise through pinching your nose. I live in Ohio and the weather is moderate during the summer compared to tropical climate. In my testing it works fine doesn't fog up, although when submerging it leaks a bit from the top but nothing tremendous. It runs right out after surfacing. Although I may need to adjust the straps a little for that. I'll have to take a look later this summer for the fogging issue when my family and I go on vacation. As far as equalizing that has never been an issue for me too much when swimming.
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Thanks Keith :) I'm hearing mixed reports from different experiences. I guess the underlying thing here is that if you are happy to cruise on the surface, don't mind breathing in your own expelled carbon dioxide and can put up with a little fogging this thing is gonna work for you :)

I love my Seaview 180° full face snorkel mask... used it snorkeling in the Florida Keys and it was splendid! Tried using my boyfriends traditional snorkel and I hated it! I think it's the perfect mask for first time snorkelers (like myself). I also SUCK at floating and treading water, but this mask creates such a large bubble around your head that it kept me afloat! I also had no issues with fogging up.

You should not clean the spit with seawater. The meaning of spit is to impossibility steam to condensate on mask glass. So if you clean the spit with seawater, steam can touch glass. The reason of using toothpaste is for scrap the antifog coat (sounds crazy but this coat doenst antifog at all, better without it than with it). Here in Brazil we use some goo produced by the algae Caulerpa racemosa. This algae has some air sacs, than you should break these sacks on glass masks and rub on it.
Kutulue
Kutulue - 6 years ago
+Renato Correia
Umm why are you saying steam? Steam is not involved in the fogging process at all. Goggles fog up due to your skin temperature increasing the temperature of the air inside the goggles. The cold water on the outside causes condensation of the humidity in the air inside your mask. So no steam involved at all. Steam only forms when water gets close to 100 degrees Celcius at sea level.
dapollitica
dapollitica - 6 years ago
Remember that toothpaste is abrasive and what you can use in a good mask with tempered glass might not be good to use on a mask made out of “plastic” material. About the fog part we used to have cigarette butts with us in our spear fishing outs. We would wash the masks, rub very good a cigarette butt on the inside part of the glass and give it a fast deep in the ocean water. That used to work for us! The tar, resins and oils from the burned cigarette butt seemed to do the trick. The other method is to spit into the mask and rub the glass for while, drain and go for it. But all this methods that works with glass might not work with plastic.

GivesAMinute try using soap it works for my diving goggles every single time.
the toothpaste is used for the first use to get all the chemicals from the factory off the screen so its not actually used for the fog.
with soap you wash your mask in the sea put a few drips of soap in in it wash 1 time make sure you have a very tin screen of soapy water on your glass and then put it back on it works wayyy better than spit
GivesAMinute
GivesAMinute - 6 years ago
Interesting. I did it all wrong then :( Next time I will leave the spit on.
TuroMisu
TuroMisu - 6 years ago
The type of mask is of course not such a good one because of the air you breathe inside the same compartment as the glasses (transparent part), you did the spitting thing good except one thing... don't mix it with water, water is just to rinse it fast. If you mix the spit with water you are already removing the layer that you try to create. Try it one more time, but don't use water to rub it in, and afterwards you use water (fast in and out of the water) to remove a bit, but not the entire layer.
I'm so happy that you are a YouTuber who listens to his followers and also has time to do this.

I rub Vaseline in my scuba diving mask to stop fogging. Vaseline works!
As you feel the pressure beginning to build up in your ears do the following:
1 Use a nose clip with the full face mask and close your mouth.
2 Turn your head to the right until your chin touches your shoulder.
3 Swallow hard until your left ear pops.
4 Turn your head to the left until your chin touches your shoulder.
5 Swallow hard until your right ear pops.
If that doesn't work try crewing gum and swallowing saliva in the mask. That works on airplanes :)
Berkcam

Vaseline?
Haha, you are giving the public some bad shit information there. Vaseline is just a petroleum based grease that will not only distort vision it is also not good for breathing its fumes. Just smear some mild shampoo all around the glass and wash it out well before fitting the mask. I'm a professional diver and we just use washing-up liquid in our helmets.

I think you should shave so that your facial hair is not leaking air into the vision part of the mask? If that is supposed to seal there? Hard to tell from video. Also for me i like to dip mask in water for a minute to adjust to water temps. And also dip your face in a bit so its not too warm. Then spit in mask smear around but don't rinse it out. Works great for normal mask anyway.

Hehehe! Thanks buddy :) After the last messages from Scooter Brad I have left him in my rear vision. A mate of mine summed it up perfectly: "Don't go off your track to step on an ant" - That is such a rad quote I might put it on a SB one-off shirt!!

Hover in place, swim out there, get the shot, hope it doesn't force land and then fang it back to shore before the battery dies! :)

Yeah!! Boodles!! Been great over here!! Everything going really well lately. I gave that mask to the dive crew on the island (I've since moved from there) so that mask is gone, but I have another company reach out with their product, so you can have it when I'm back :)

so if your under water with the mask on do u still have to hold your breath or is there still air for yo to breath in it ?
Robbie McGill
Robbie McGill - 6 years ago
moron, it is not magic, you cannot breath if the snorkel is underwater, the point of a snorkel is you don;t have to lift you head out of the water to breath, but the snorkel tube must be free of water and in air for you to breathe !!!

You hold your breath - the air in the face part of the mask is not really enough to breath from (plus it's a mix of carbon dioxide!)

GivesAMinute mine is perfect, just needs 2 vents for air in on the snorkel and 2 out not 1 in and 2 out

I wouldn't call this thing awesome, but it is a interesting idea that falls very far short of being awesome.
