Last time I went past Kirra - which is a better wave than this when it's working - I counted 200 people out, crushing the break. That's the reason I finally gave it away. We had the best years - '60's, early '70's. Those days are long gone. Yes, I surfed Hawaii. Other places too. The dream's over. It's gone.

Lived here for 6 years on the point from 1972 to 1978 then moved down the road apiece to Little Rincon for another 5 years. Halcyon days!!!

nicely done video and the music feels like a good fit

I have had a few of those waves on winter trips -- and it really is hard to score one when there are so many people all trying to take off on the same wave

is it better to get one long one or lots of short rides on lesser crowded waves? nothing worse than paddling & burning out your arms and getting skunked

great little short...most of your footage is tack sharp and you have done an all round thumbs up job....one thing i would point out is that your footage looks much too much like "video" which it is of course but with dslr s you can achieve a cinematic look....it really is a personal preference kind of thing but just in case you haven't heard about it check out this little video on how to achieve it...it is not my video just a good one with good tips on the dslr settings which will give you the best cinematic feel......cheers man...great stuff -love the surfing !!! -https://youtu.be/PnL4Z0ebcBc

I appreciate the tips but the truth be told is during that time I preferred the video look to film. I also enjoyed the benefits of having a slo motion option for post production later down the line. For all my new stuff I am back to enjoying the film look 24p timeline but I still shoot in 60p just way more flexibility in post. Cheers

Wouldn't you guess based on focus, exposure and composition that the guy shot 60p for slow motion? I would guess that. Or else because he wanted it to look like video. In fact, I'm going to go look at his website now just to show myself that I'm not just being a dick.

Like Malibu, Rincon is a freaking zoo. World class waves but too crowded. Give me a lesser wave with fewer people any day.

Study it closely Brian, you have it backwards, The longboarder was deeper, he passed the other guy as he was trying to drop in on him. It was his wave and he had no reason to kick out.
