OK for everybody who has an understood the video or hasn’t gotten it yet you have to first go to guard mode then jump and then press say and then you should be capable of shield sledding

Thank you so much! I'm trying to find a guide on the tips and techniques used in shield surfing... like the things that literally make you BETTER at it! Things like how to keep your speed up would be useful. How to choose a good path... like if you see 1. a pile of rocks on one side, 2. a smooth ramp of snow on the other, and 3. your smooth, but not-so-steep downward slope in the middle.... should you stick with the center downward path, or go with one of the things on the side and jump off? And if you do that, do you just jump and land.... or do any tricks, or stay on your glider for a few seconds? Also, when moving side to side, how far is too far to move where it will slow you down? What tricks will speed up your time? Etc Etc blah blah ad nauseum.

This game is outstandingly broken... The actual text I found on "how to" shield surf came from a woman named Selmie located way up on some snow mountains.... This is her ACTUAL dialogue box on how to shield surf.... "Quick check---you do know how to surf, right? Just hold out your shield, and then hop onto it in mid jump."

...That's it... No where, NO WHERE, do they ever explain "oh by the way you have to press a second button." That's all they fucking need and these smug developers feel that, "discovery" is more important... Not when you haven't even explained the rules of the game. God damn it this game doesn't deserve the praise it has gotten.

Two guys in a "shield surfing gang" give you a tutorial. Start at Woodland Stable and travel south-east down the road. When you get to the intersection of Thims Bridge, there's a dude who has a little camp set up and is staring up the hill at his partner. They'll tell you all about their gang and Selmie. Then they give the tutorial.

Uggh, same here. The worst part is that a guide on how to do it did come up - once I was on my shield already. The game is usually good about explaining controls, but this is a weird exception. I liked some of other secondary features being less explained most of the time, but this was a clear omission.

There is a girl way up in the mountains (north west on the map) that explains how to shield surf. If you then shield surf a certain track within a certain amount of time, you get new shields that are really good!
