Awesome video. Thanks for the video without music - a nice change to be able to hear what a foil (doesn't) sound like. Just getting mine today and taking it to Greece in a week or so so I'm hoping my average wakeskating skills will see me through!

I have the slingshot wakefoiler it's awesome!!! question: was there a reason for the deepwater start (knees?) was that based on lack of power or just preference? ours is 130hp, but I get up heels on top / sideways with a 24 inch mast (and I'm a big / heavy guy,. just curious? also - any close encounters with the foil when crashing ? I've landed on mine a few times but nothing serious. Thanks!

Yea, the longer the mast is, the harder it is to start that way without tilting the board with your hands.
We usually cruise around 14 mph. No real need to go any faster.

HR Aerial yeah - I don't use straps either, and use a 24" mast. What we do is start up heels on top (like a wakesurf) and then have the boat take up a little slack, dig in the heels / get the board sideways then "hit it". It's kind of a combo wakesurf / wakeboard start. Either way, it's awesome.. so much fun out there!!! Is it harder getting up on the pontoon boat? What size engine does it have? What speed do you find works best? I'm a big guy - so we are riding about 13/14mph. Wakefoil is such a blast!!!

We actually moved up to a 35" Mast to have more room over the chop when ride farther away from the boat.
It requires a little more leverage so it's easier to just start the way we do in the video.
Plus, we don't use straps either.
