The trailer basically is a 3 min version of the movie, not cool. This movie is good, underated, and if you are looking for a new coming of age story this ones got it.

Ive seen both movies, I don't need your summary. Point Break is just as much a surfing movie as big wednesday is. Maybe there isn't as much surfing, but then entire plot revolves around Bodhi wanting to ride the biggest wave of his life, thus the robberies so he can get the money.

No. Point Break was ok but not better than Big Wednesday. Point Break was more about bank robbing criminals who happened to be surfers. Big Wednesday is about life, surfing, and friendship. The whole movie is centered around surfing and the climax is surfing.

Classic grew up in Santa Cruz surfing and skateboarding in the 70's. ill be 50 next month his film brought back som good times. By the way I still skateboard from time to time .

This movie is epic. I lived in Santa Cruz when it came out and there were 3 dudes re writing the rules of high performance big wave riding: Richard Schmidt, Vince Collier and Charlie Heitmann. The three of them were remarkably similar to the archetypes in this film. Their "Big Wednesday" came during the El Nino of 1982-83 - only it lasted all winter almost to May. Then in 1990 they were introduced to Mavericks - right after Schmidt scored a perfect 10 at the "Eddie".

Im 45 years young, and I can say that this is the best movie ever. Ive been watching it for near on 30 years. Even my mates who have never surfed love it. This is not just a surfing flick but one of growing up Cheers

Yeh,awesome film. I replaced my old VHS copy last year with the DVD,which includes the trailer.The scene at around 1:40 in the trailer with Matt & Bear is a different take to the finished film. Any more outtakes exist anyone know?
