As seen on the news: A terrifying video has emerged from Portugal of British surfer Andrew Cotton crashing in giant waves and the failed attempt to rescue him. In the clip, which was filmed in Nazare last month on December 17, 2016, Cotton rides a huge wave but falls as the white water catches up with him. A rescue jet ski, driven by his team partner and professional surfer Hugo Vau, struggles to find Cotton in the mass of white water and Cotton is forced to duck under another monster wave. Eventually Vau finds Cotton but as he's preparing to drive them out of danger, a third enormous wave crashes into them, capsizing the jet ski and knocking both men into the water. you cant get any decent thrust out of the hole from the ski in white water like that, that mixed with the current sucking you back and they didnt have much of a chance from a full stop start like that.

The funny thing is he cannot wait to get back out into it. These people live for it (the adreneline of surfing big waves) and it is how they feel alive. They also know that mother nature usually has the final say but are willing to roll the dice.
