This is the coolest thing! I surfed Doheny a few years ago very late in the afternoon, but stayed until it got dark. It was just me and another dude.
WOW!! Surfing in the dark where your longboard and your feet are lit up is like surfing LIGHT itself.

I was lucky to witness this once, years ago (before Google existed in my world), and I was totally amazed. I was at Nantasket Beach in Massachusetts one night in July, possibly early 90's. I had no idea what it was but it was fascinating! Now I live in Florida and I plan on being at the right place at the right time to see it again. Nature at it's finest <3

these bioluminescent organisms are dynophyts (a branch or large micro-organisms between animals and vegetals 1000 times larger than bacteria). They live in all oceans of the world by are rarelu observed because they require special conditions. More than 1000 living species are bioluminescent from fireflights to some worms.

algae blooms is a result of pollution while i have only heard of 1 form of algae that can be considered a aquatic invasive species which was a strain that mutated to be use to colder temps in a aquarium (said strain doesn't have any natural predators resulting in limitless growth in any aquatic temps)...so the algae isn't to blame just because it can absorb all the nitrogen/pollution we dump...more so its our fault for not realizing that using chemical fertilizers in excess might have major environmental impacts...btw conventional agriculture is TERRIBLE FOR EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING in the end (except for the billion dollar biotech companies which patents nature through modifying plants genetically) BILLION DOLLAR business interests influence peoples perspective so if you think i am incorrect research more.

I live in the US and I think you're a little unfairly biased. Obviously guns are very dangerous objects that need to be seriously restricted when it comes to who should be able to own them. While I disagree that they should be banned I do think they should be more heavily regulated. They have their uses but just because something can be used for a violent act doesn't mean it should be banned. Should we ban swimming pools because they're the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4? I would say no, they just need to be taken seriously with the proper safety precautions. The house I grew up in has something like 14 guns in it. They range from hunting, to target practice, to personal defense. Never had an accident and we've always taken proper safety precautions when using them. Also it's nice to know you can defend your family from intruders if need be. That said I do have disdain for gun nuts. They are annoying and they don't see the matter as the nuanced topic that it is.

I feel pissed off with a lot of Americans, who still, even after stuff like Sandy Hook, want to own, have in their Homes, and on their Persons, Firearms. WTF are their Brains? Don't they realise that their protection can end up sometimes being used ON themselves? Obviously not. And how many times have Kids got hold of Firearms, and killed a Sibling for example? Quite a few from what I remember hearing about and reading about. One Kid, about 2 Years old, got the Gun out of His Mums Handbag, and then shot and killed Her. htf is He going to feel when He's older, knowing what happened? All because the stupid Bitch insisted on carrying a Firearm on Herself (well in Her Handbag, but you know what I mean) Since Sandy Hook, there have been over 50,000 Gun Murders in the U.S. (last time I checked, in about June last Year) God knows how many it is now. If little Kids being killed in School changed nothing, then NOTHING will. SHAME on their fucking NRA who STILL want the right to bear arms. They have Blood on their disgusting Hands! I'm damn glad I don't live there. I live in the U.K. and i DON'T want people having Guns in their Homes, or on themselves! I don't know what Country you live in yourself(?) But if your in the U.S. then i feel sorry for you. I have Family and Mates over there, and they hate the Gun Culture there!

Where is the video shot? What kind of camera? Surfed Malibu California at 10' with a tomato soup red tide and grunion run! All the fish were glowing and going on peoples boards. The tubes were bright green. Also when you threw the wet sand it glowed on impact. Water was stinky and hard to get out of the wetsuit.

@Xrazy420 Believe it or not, this is what happens when there is an overpopulation of dinoflagellates called a red tide. When they are disturbed, they emit a light. They can cause lots of problems like causing paralytic shellfish poisoning and depleting the ocean of a lot of nutrients but-upside? Apparently, they make surfing PRETTY choice!!
