My only guess is that it's about how life can end in an instant, with everything you ever knew destroyed into dust. In knowing this possibility the Butthole Surfers are trying to say you might as well do things and regret them... live life to the fullest.

Imitates " The End" by The Doors only in a way that only the BHS could. Often utilizing the "...and I walked off down the hall..." phrase.
