Would be perfect for surf kayaking! They do look pretty weak for a short board. Long board would be fun for old guy or intermediate.

Some interesting Chicama history. Soon after the wave was discovered I visited Chicama often in the years 1969-72 while living in Lima. The town had no running water – only a central well. Their were no toilets – we releived ourselves in the open dessert. Very few homes had electricity. Homes were tiny shacks of mud and adobe. The streets were dirt and sand. Hombre’s home was closest to the point. Surfers slept on a dirt floor in a room with no roof behind Mr. Hombre's kitchen at no cost. In gratitude for his kindness we purchased meals cooked by his wife for about USD 10-15 cents. This was the only source of income for Hombre and his impoverished family. We shared our wine and pisco with Hombre as he could not afford such a rich man's luxury. I'm happy to see that Hombre has come so far and now runs a thriving hotel.

I am from Peru & living in Long Island since 1979........ ( 59 yrs old ) yes I remember el Hombre.........what a great person......... at noon we came back from surfing... & he was ready with the Lunch....nice fresh fish..... & drinks...... always in a good mooth.......later he had our drinks....play foosball..or ping pong..... & waiting for the next day...early in the morning............ckng the conditions............. here in this Video doesn't show when Chicama gets big........... & its real good & U can ride 'til get tire of it/.....hahaha. I remember in those days.......each wave U caught........U would get out & walk back....the current pretty strong...........& heard today...there is a boat that bring U back to the point.....................................................................Andres
