The dolphins can't see above the water when they are underneath, which is most of the time, so it's probably not intentional. They must know the board is there but not who's on top of it.

Or it was just trying to not kill him by hitting his nose on the guy since their nose can cause massive damage. Dolphin's are known to mess with people by jumping out of the water at surfers and paddle boarders. They do this stuff all the time it's pretty funny to watch.

Yeah you can see it adjusts its left pectoral fin and curls its tail fin right around to the right to try to not collide with the surfer. Very smart animal
