Obscure surf music with little to no air time. I know. I lived the era, surfed the era, and danced the era. All while living the surf scene and music. Great times, those were. From the late 50's through the middle of the 60's, I had access to jukebox and promo 45's and never heard any of these songs. So, I say, thanks for sharing these not bad, not good surf music.

I grew up in Southern California from 1958 ( when I was 10 ). LOVED the surf sound. Amazing time and place to grow up in. Soul music and Philly sound, surf, garage rock, the British Invasion, the psychedelic sound... I now live in the desert of SoCal and the music scene here is amazing, eclectic and with seasoned musicians. This is an awesome and totally bitchen ( yes, that is how one spells the WORD ) group of songs! Wow!

When I came across for the first time with this compilation, it blew my mind and I became addicted to it. That is the wildest and darker Surf Music I ever heard, so musically rich and seductive, full of acrobatic Guitars and Saxophone playing, with beautiful melodies from Spanish-Flamenco, Eastern Europe, Middle East and other charming origins.Impossible to don't dance and jump like crazy or drive at less than 100 Km/hr while listening to it.THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING IT!!!

It's not Dick Dale's Misirlou. He covered but so did a lot of other Surf Bands. It's and old folk tune with different versions from different parts of the Eastern Mediteranian.

absolutely brilliant i'm more into 60s psychedelic music and seventies prog rock but this is just fantastic. its the simplicity of 2 or 3 guitars, 1 bass and a drummer all built up in to a complex piece that sounds amazing. and its real people actually playing it not like modern music which is computer generated crap that has no meaning like the good old music.

Highly addictive music. It's like the first time I heard Master of Puppets, I was instantly hooked on speed metal and thrash after growing up on classic rock. The first time I heard any kind of surf was on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. I couldn't stop listening. I think it's the speed and repetitiveness that it has in common with certain heavy metal that makes it so addictive.

Welcome, you will find quite a diversity of musical sounds within the "surf" music genre. It is pure ear candy what is being done by these bands. Check out a couple of channels called Crewzep and Montgomery Blakeys to get started. Pure musical surf diversity etc.
