I agree that this never gets old. They did a great job with the song. In fact, if it was longer, it could have probably made the pop charts, haha. This guy's my hero, he fucked with the whole country and made the best ironic joke about surfers steriotype, and everyone bought it, even Daniel Tosh. I loved it when tosh interviewed him in a wetsuit talking like a gnarly burnout, and during the interview slowly realized that this dude is a smart normal guy, and by mid way through I think tosh was feeling pretty stupid sitting there acting like an ass hole haha. Now when surfers get interviewed by local news teams we will all tell them about getting pitted.

If you are trying to stand up in still water, It's practically impossible... but when you're getting pushed by a wave and have some momentum it's easier. At first it always seems like riding a fast wave would be harder, but oddly, it's easier to balance on something that is in motion on the water.

Thank you :) Now I'll be able to understand three more surfing references. It does sound like an amazing experience. If I weren't so afraid of sharks, I'd definately want to try that. Though I imagine it'd take a while to get to the "being able to stay standing on a surfboard" stage.

Getting "pitted", "shacked" or "tubed" means being in that perfect spot in the barrel where the wave is all around you like you are in a room made of water. It's the greatest thing a surfer can do and the hardest feeling to explain to anyone who hasn't done it.

I take it from the context that "Get pitted" means "to wipe out"? Also, you call it the adult world, but in reality a more suitable name would be "the projected world", seeing as everything in it is either man made or made up by mankind. And in some strange self-pleasuring way mankind has overestimated the value of this massive product of imagination. It deteriorates human nature and makes people stress out over completely illogical imagined concepts made-real simply by giving them importance.

I know, some people would probably think surfing a lot is a waste of time, and that they should go find a high paying job or something that eats 90% of their time so they can be "happy". For a lot of people it takes a mid-life crisis for them to go looking for what really makes them enjoy life.

As much as people find this guy amusing, I must say that deep down I envy him for the simple pleasures of living a live suited exclusively for him.
