For one, that's a skate not a surf board lol. A surf board would probably work better & have have more buoyancy, but I still don't think you're gonna be able to pull it off without tethering the nose to something. The liquid force fish is a good beginner board (fairly cheap, and good for a variety of different skill levels if you ever surf behind a boat). Love your adorable family! Good luck!

There may not be enough water power for standing on a board to surf in the hot tub. Ellie is lighter which may be why she seemed to have a little more success. Try an extra wide bottomed boogie board. Those are the kind soldiers use in wave pools when they are rehabilitating from missing limbs and rebuilding core strength. (Although they may have to get those kind made special for them) Another option is sitting on a board like you are in a kayak and seeing how long you can sit on the board in the water stream. It's an excellent core work out!

You could put the kids on a boogie board. Cut a hole at the top tye a string to the edge of the hot tub and tie the string to the hole of the boogie board and turn on the current and they can just ride...

Surfing in a hot tub looks like an accident waiting to happen. If you fell with all that stone around you, there would definitely be a skull fracture or worse. That was not a very smart thing to do especially when your kids look up to you as a role model.

Jackson should have been made to get out of the hot tub and gone into time out. Biting is serious! I know everyone will say he was probably disciplined off camera, but I feel like he was just gently verbally scolded. What if he does that to one of the kids next time? He is a sweet little boy, but he needs to learn that there are consequences for his actions, and biting is definitely one that needs a consequence.

Make sure you keep the temperature lower, like 90's, and then like an hour or two before you wanna use it turn it up :) Uses less energy so better for the environment :) Happy Sunday!

+Me Shell It's the fatty part cut suuuper thin. It looks like plastic and is almost all fat, there's very little meat on it at all. And they don't eat the eye part (the round bit at the end that is just meat)... I don't know if you can even buy real bacon over there but standard 'streaky bacon' is just basically wafer thin sticks of far :/
i imagine NZ bacon is like ours where its a big long thing with an eye (round bit) at 1 end and then the fat and strand bits coming off it...and cut about 1cm thick.

From a physics point of view I think that it's impossible to successfully surf like that. Firstly - the water is too shallow for you to stand vertically on the board. Secondly - when you go surfing, the pressure of the wave keeps you afloat and moving forward. Here you have a current moving against you therefore it's forcing you the opposite direction/down. Tirdly - when wake boarding, the boat is pulling you and keeping you up. Basically, you need a force to keep you afloat and it has to be quite strong, here you have none.
Of course, I might be wrong, so don't let me discourage you from trying again ;)

Okay it's so weird because for Halloween I got my dogs costume in the beginning of October and Smokey is Batman and he is 5 and Nova is Spider-Man and she is 7 it's so weird lol they look adorable!
