This is great info. Im also just learning. I think he doesnt really explain the popup well, I just kept on nosediving.. drank lots of water haha.. this guy did a better job at that www.boostyoursurf.com I think.

Yeah "fall off backwards into the wave" so your surfboard smashes into the front of the person jumping over the waves. FFS This happens all the time, noobs -_- Also do not cut surfers up and crowd their territory

If you're not surfing with a fiberglass board, you'll want a rashguard to prevent rashes. You'll need a wetsuit if the water is cold

If you are riding a foam board, there is no need to, but if you are riding a real surfboard, then yes, you would need to put wax on it.

just get in the bloody water and youll love it! oh and try and watch some better videos than this one first cause this is just cheesy and not that helpful. You can rent boards and wetsuits (which youll need if your here in the uk) at any beach that is known for surf, if your unsure just do a google search. You should be fine, just keep a low centre of gravity till you get a feel for the board which shouldnt take long if your a flyer. awesome, have fun

I guess this is good for people who have never even heard of surfing before, but this almost way too simplistic. There also some false facts, like requiring a wetsuit or leash. The waves you were surfing on were too easy, even for a beginner; they were like those annoying little ankle-biter waves you see on bad days. Also, it seemed like you really had no grasp on real surfing or the logistics of it; almost like you were reading this out of a textbook. That's my two cents, anyway.
