Great technique. What is the board volume, PU or epoxy, and your weight ? Actually my question I never seen addressed is what's the ratio volume/weight you can start to drawn a board to manage a duck dive ? I'm 130 lb and my board is 29 l. When I start a duck dive I drawn the nose and the tail automatically lift over the water. Sure my technique has to improve but I would like to know what's the max liters a board has to have I can start to dive it !

My board is 40L and im 80 kg, i can still duck dive 4ft waves fairly effectively. I find that having as much forward speed as possible helps a lot and i tend to push a little closer to the nose than the take off position to get the nose to scoop under the water and then push hard with my knee before stretching flat and kicking with my feet. Timing is everything and you might find that you are starting your maneuver too late. I also find it helps to open your eyes under the water so you can see when its safe to come up. Im only learning, but that seems to work for me. Loving your videos guys! So useful for me!

That ratio sounds fine :) probably anything over 32L gets a bit tricky for a mid weight person

How do you prevent the board from getting dented? The top of my board has small dents and my guess is that it’s happened from me putting my knee down while duck diving. Any tips?

Use your foot on your tail pad during a duck dive, instead of your knee. Works well!
