Surfing Nazare in 100 foot seas is probably one of the greatest human accomplishments, something so pure about it showing as a flee on this great planets face we have become so talented as humans that we can do things like this.. right up there with Space Travel imo, ive been to school for rocket science, we had to design a rocket that can orbit drop a pay load and fall back to earth, that's all calculated this isn't.. pure reactions, pure talent. Ive surfed mal pies in costa when that was 12 ft, man I thought that was big lolol

With great respect to the film makers and the surfers... please please take off the rock sound track which accompanies so much great surfing footage and do 3 things: 1) let the natural sounds of the waves breaking be the main soundtrack.. and the environment, the odd snippets of conversation, the water lapping etc etc and 2) dont cut the rides so that they are crammed together like 'money shots' - you wont lose our interested if you show the end of the wave and the beginning much more with some quiet time in between.. let the film breathe.. show fewer rides .. but more in depth with voice over commentary from the rider afterwards as he sees the ride ( or the wipeout!) and also commentary from the jet ski buddy.. make their commentary specific to the shot..
So much of the sound track and cutting style of surfing footage follows the same dreadful cliche of ride after ride after ride, cut just as the guy wipes out or pulls out, the same rock music plastered over the soundtrack.. turns it all into one generic 'surf porn' vibe. The riders and the participants and assistants deserve more respect for this.
If one of you film makers out there understands what I am talking about and you could make a truly great totally original surf film - no one has ever done this have they?

No music just the sound of the sea and a beautiful quiet seconds showing the aftermath of a successful ride.. the sea.. the beauty of the surface of the sea.. the wave dying down.. way to go!

The sea at Nazare is very unpredictable. It's a bit agressive most part of the year, but when winter comes...run for your lives! When the underwater "cannon" starts shooting the result are these monstruous waves. The sound...it's really like bombs exploding, very, very scary and deafening! But the beauty of this natural show is also unique.

Sounds like you just gotta go harder mate. Practice. A lot of surfing, as you will know, is confidence and attitude. If other guys can do it then so can I and you. Everyone has there limitations and they are set by your knowledge of self. Paddle harder into the thing and driive that thing down and maintain control and balance. Push yourself. Its only water. With the necessary respect one can get through water with ease and grace but it takes attitude and will.You can do it man.
