Right side of my brain: "I would SO join Miss Kim..."
Whilst I still think that what the leaders are doing is corrupt and they are taking advantage and mistreating their people.
But I do think that, whilst the lives of a lot of the people are terrible, not all of them have completely corrupted lives. And I think that because of the fact that they don't know, about the world outside, makes it a tiny bit easier for me to feel both better and worse for them. Worse because they will never know about the world outside, but better because to them, its normal and not as terrible as it seems to us and they obviously have close communities something that is lacking in most other parts of the world.
So I suppose this has made my outlook on the country, despite most of it being propaganda and highly censored. Has given me a better view of the country, and that is all thanks to the people there, not the leaders.

서양물에 때묻지 않음을 증명해야 되니까요.. 영화 "그물"만 봐도 대한민국으로 이남한 주인공이 서울을 못본척하는 걸 볼 수 있죠.
i luv yer vid.. ! :) good connection

she : no
he : we are in....... (the middle of nowhere)
Any suggestions
Instead of critisizing this work from your computer at home saying this video is spreading misleading propaganda about nk, why not try to think of the difference these people are actually making to the people they meet and spend time with? Regardless of why they (the nk guides etc) are there or who they were sent by.
When I watch this, I don't think "wow nk is pretty good afterall, nothing messed up with it", if you feel other people are gullible enough to think so you're hopefully in the wrong. When I watch these vidoes I feel range of bittersweet emotions. These people you see in the vidoes they are just like us but living in under an evil leader in a dictature. That doesn't change the fact that they can have a good laugh just like us, that they want to earn a better living, meet new people and live just like us. The way they connect and have fun with the tourists is not an act. it's just humans being humans connecting with each other.
nk probably believes we will accept this "view" of nk without thinking critically just like the people of his country, but no, most of us most likely will not. As seen in the comments. So stop thinking other people are less intelligent than you and realize the people who do these surfing trips are making difference, however small. You have start somewhere.
Honestly before seeing this series of vlogs I had no perception of what the north korean people was like. I kind of thought of them as brain washed robots. But they're not. You just have to take a look inside a little deeper and you will they're just like us but heavily controlled by a sick government.
Wow! Almost as if there are not millions of people starving to death,
working in forced labor, living on a bag of rice a year, or turning to
black markets to survive.
-NO ONE in My COUNTRY Also Dont Know Who is JUSTIN BIEBER.
Furthermore, getting too close to Miss Kim could put her in a situation where she inadvertently crosses the party line and could face punishment.
Water ._.
Next time, do the same in Syria, it will be fun.
Ethic, do you know this concept ?
But It's interesting to see all the comments by Americans, excoriating these video's as promoting the regime in North Korea because only the elite were able to take part. Yet they completely ignore the fact that it is EXACTLY the same in America, where only the rich get to participate in activities like this as well.
Good luck finding a poor person at a Justin Beiber concert or a Kanye West concert, or who can spend their days at the beach.
I live in America (Washington State), and work full time for low wages while living in my car - like most of my co-workers. It's crazy how the brain washed elite 20% of America think the country is so much better than North Korea, without realizing that it is only like that for them.
So while you are sitting in your subsidized houses, or sipping latte's at Panera and Starbucks, you might want to remember that you get to do all that thanks to the oppression of millions of immigrants who get treated like filth and will never taste those latte's, or get to own a home.
greetings from Germany :)
That would be awesome
It's a bit sad the comment section... so much negativity.
yeah man, surfing dude....
forget the bullcrap, debt, HR violations, poverty, lack of heath care etc etc etc...
just a bunch of privileged tourists taking advantage of north Korea for their own benefit
