As with all forms of extreme sports, there are responsible people and irresponsible people. Drinking and extreme sports don't mix. Luckily no was injured and no property damage occurred this time. But other boaters should be encouraged to do the same things you guys did after watching your video.

For surfing off the boat I made a small floater with those's weights for fishing that have the wires you can bend to grab the reef and I never anchor in less than 25' depending on how big the waves are I'll go to 100' some time's in huge surf like what we would call 10-12' other's would call it 20-25' typically 10' would break in up to 15' of water to get a idea on anchor depth but I would use my buoy 1st see where the surf was breaking as of where I tossed my buoy there was times I thought it was good the large set came broke on my buoy which was ok with me since I didn't toss my anchor yet it's a good habit to do if your going to anchor near the surf and using the depth gauge and wave height 10' was 15' water as a factor in telling you the depth to anchor and another good thing to do is always use floating anchor rope and have a good floater on the end of the anchor rope so if by chance your have to bail really fast and no time to pull anchor just undo anchor from boat and go toss it no worry's cause you got a floater on end and you can come back for it and you should always have at least 2 anchor's I'm sure you know that And more if you Boat is large not scolding you just trying to pass info I've learned and use to keep me and me boat safe as well as everyone one on it have fun on you travels careful on those reefs its crazy how huge wave come out of nowhere even out at Sea I've had insane wave rattle my boat while out at Sea and I'm sure you have had some similar thing happen Good Luck God Bless and Aloha

Hey Rick, I know you're in SXM right now and some Friends of mine have just arrived from the BVI with no masts (SV Papageno).They are a very lovely couple-Liz used to be part of the Delos crew, met the Love of her Life on St. Helena and they bought a 50 yr. old Amel which they are lovingly restoring.They pulled into SXM yesterday and I recommended they see FKG about getting their masts re-stepped/repaired but if you do run into them-Liz is a very pretty English girl with a charming French BF with wild hair-I just love these guys and since you were based there a few years ago any advise,steering them towards the right people would be much appreciated.Cheers, Debbie
