This is the best pipe footage - And When I was a kid - pipeline was THE Mecca tube...but nowadays it looks like a kiddies friendly little wave pool beside the likes of Teahupoo and a thousand other places discovered since the 70s and 80s. They are in Another universe.

There is tiger and reef sharks all over Hawaii. Probably not localized to that reef but sharks migrate and pass by. They typically not interested in humans so when they are there you would never know it

You will get hit and you will do some hitting. If you sitting, roll over pulling most of your board with you. Works 98% of the time. At night its hard to see anyone. I once stopped a surfboard and rider, with my FACE. Broke my nose but kept surfing. Night surfing is something you will never forget.

Pipeline is such an amazing wave. It breaks hard and fast and close to shore. The beach in front is also amazing. The sand is clean and coarse. Almost like rice size grains. You can rub it on yourself and just brush it off.

Yeah, I guess you can say its an unwritten rule, but we usually dont drop in on someone's wave if they get there first... But if you both drop in at the same time just split and share the wave... Hope you get over your fear, once you get into it, you will love it forever.

Step 1: Go live near the ocean. Otherwise you will never get anywhere nearly good enough to surf waves like this. I don't know what help you want other than that. If you just want to try out surfing smaller waves, contact a surf school or surf instructor at a place near you (try France or Ireland maybe, don't know much about surfing in Europe)

I remember body surfing this place back in the seventies with my brother, and we had it all to ourselves. Population is everywhere now. But I am glad to see people out there living life, as there is only one, and it should be directly involved in nature as thusly thrusted to the surf! Great video, well shot!
