Yo Ben!! I’ve been watching your videos for about a month now, you have been such an inspiration to me all around. I grew up surfing in NY year round but life got in the way and I had lost interest until I saw your attitude and energy towards the ocean and life in general. Now I’m stoking on my rediscovery! Hey Ben! I highly recommend putting sunscreen all over your face as I have had skin cancers removed from my cheeks, nose, forehead, throat, shoulders, and chest! Scars on the face are no fun! You are living the dream! Stoked 2 see your videos every morning. The surf has been so bad hear in SoCal I check your vlog before I check Surfline!

I just had an epiphany. You could probably monetize a deal with a sunscreen company by putting sunscreen on your face before every surf session you do on your vlog. $$$$ and an awesome PSA that could possibly prevent skin cancer for many young impressionable surfers.

Totally, BG. In fact, you should do a whole segment on sun screen. Years ago when I found out I had a melanoma I figured oh well, a tiny spot can't kill me, how bad can it be. It can in fact kill you. I was lucky. BTW, I didn't spend very much time in the sun as a youngster...blond and blue eyes is dangerous. If you get a handful of kids to start sun screening, you'll save somebody's life 20 years down the road.

Depends on swell direction,wind ,tides and so many factors.Most consistent is definitely Brevard County,the best wave in my opinion lives in South Florida in an ultra exclusive neighborhood that breaks on a big north swell.

For general surfing, I would also say Cocoa Beach. If you're more skilled and don't mind sharing waves (or fighting for waves), you can go to Sebastian Inlet. Sebastian usually wedges up and the surf has more punch to it. But for a beginner, I'd just go to Cocoa Beach and find a spot to practice.
