Amazing place. My benchmark was Mahia for over a decade, so I give credit where credit is due. Experience it for yourself, you won't regret it. Catch it on when it's Christmas Eve and you will have it to yourself. Now back in Canada mind surfing it all over again.

This wave is almost exactly like my home break. The only two differences are my paddle out is about a kilometer(this place seems more like a point) and there almost never more than five guys out. Usually just two or three.

yeah same everyone who grew up surfing indicators has that tale of when you suited up in the car park light at 5am and headed out on a Tuesday morning with just you and 2 mates out for 30 mins and only a few others for an hour or so at 5 foot perfect indicators! But yeah weekends suuuck. And its worse now that in the mid to late 90s for sure.

You are right this is a point, I grew up surfing this wave Indicators at Raglan, but yeah you can get the odd mid week day with a few out but the weekends it is more like 30 to 40 people out. Still a fantastic wave to surf all the time.

The Left line -up was there alwayzzzz...I remember the howls from the back seat of a 1948 Chevrelote straight six ...and flying surfboards off the rack...when the pedal hit the metal ....dark blue was the colour of the car and a big arsed Don Wilson surfboards decal gave the Brown -eyed followers a vegemite experience
