Captain Coconut boat trip June 1994. No toilet on boat. No dingy. Just six of us scoring some of the best waves I’ve ever surfed. Mostly in empty line ups at deserts, supers & scar!! Crazy was only $300 for a week of perfection!

how much a beating do you take after straightening out on one of those things? Almost every ride seems to end with that.

not much, the initial impact takes the power out of the wave, you have to worry more about the rush of white water taking you across shallow reef.

The Grower section of Desert Point has grown in popularity during recent years.. Just goes to show how ridiculously crowded the Point is these days. In the past it was rarely surfed as its basically a close out. Albeit with the odd one rewarding an intense barrel or more likely a severe drilling into the very shallow reef lurking below.. No wonder its all Brazo's in the clip they love to claim in front of their entourage...

best wave I ever surf viva desert point I went with my bike from kuta take a local boat for 5 dollar to lombok and then drive to desert point in the bike for 2 hour and stay with the local for 2 dollar at nite. dont pay 600 or more for boat trip dont need is more fun go by land

Credit to these guys, not an easy wave. I've a photo on the wall at home from the 80's. 6 to 8 foot and no-one out, tide pulling out to sea as hard as you can paddle. Five waves in a line down the point, each barreling.

Great wave. Only surfed it once and not that big but still perfect. Love the sign that says "respect locals" Then they cut to a group of people who are renowned for being disrespectful in Indonesia. Brazilians.

Same, I am loving and hating these vids. I'm loving them because they motivate me to get off my fat arse and get ready for our trip to Lombok in Jan 2018. I'm hating them because I have to wait for my holiday in January. Suddenly work seems like an interruption to life.
