I forgot about this band. When I was a young'n I bought one of their records used at Swap A Tape for like three bucks , this had to be 82 im thinking. Most punks wrote them off as posers or a novetly in my neck of the woods.

the twist is most of those punks were posers. lol. surf punks are pretty much just singing about what they know and love, that in itself is what punk music is all about. them saying something is a poser because it doesn't bend to their viewpoint in fact makes them posers.

Hot wheels,boogie boards,churchill fins-the Dan Gurney "Eagle"(first bmx frame),we had a blast being on the cusp of 70's innovation...I just wish that it was still there for the new kids...they even stuccoed over Huntington Beach in melon colored crap-fakery...w.t.f.! I suggest Balboa Island and San Clemente ONLY if you want the real thing...because that is all that is left...L.A. in its entirety is crap.(and stinky)

I miss Goodnight L.A. they would show video of the local bands from L.A. as well of other bands and artist who were unable to cross over.Which to me was ok. Because the recording companies use them just to make money then dump them when they were no longer in use.

@PRIVATEAYE- wasn't the fact that they called themselves Punks and were from Malibu part of the ironic joke? I never took them seriously as punks or as musicians but I found them funny and more importantly memorable. Have them on iTunes to this day. It's been 25 years? And if Dennis was leeching from DD more power to him and Drew. If that dough was spent producing "Locals Only" rather than another "Muskrat Love" the world is a better place.
