Surf Simply Tutorials: Catching Unbroken Waves

I'm really stoked with this episode. I think it's one of our best. The timing is going to be different on every wave but this episode will give you a clear idea about what you should be thinking about when making that transition from surfing in the white water to surfing out the back. It's also really useful for surfers struggling to get their head around catching steeper waves.

Yeah if the waves are like that all the time there's not much you can do except travel to better breaks.
But watch those surf reports. You never know when you might get a bigger swell come through.
but that would have to be some very weak waves. A 9 or 10 foot board should get you into some pretty small surf.
I was out today on my 5'10 fish type board and it was a weak 2 foot wave. I managed to get a few decent ones. And I'm really not very good.
Thx Broh!

Thankyou so so much for breaking it down for us folks who are just starting to progress to those waves out the back. Cheers.
you talk about instincts being backwards for surfing, but it seems like what your talking about is defensive instincts. attacking instincts are exactly what you need in these situations. you talk about this in finding the X spot, you want to hunt the wave. in martial arts, it's a huge thing to understand the difference between your defensive and aggressive instincts, and be able to access your aggressive instincts, and from what you are saying, this is true in surfing as well.
again, thanks for the vids, good stuff
Please NAME and SHAME so others can avoid them.
Going to try my luck in San Diego tomorrow morning!
