The river is draining soils over thousands of kilometers all along a drainage basin. All the eroded material are carried and accumulate at the estuary's mouth. This high amount of suspended material that gives the river a brown color is enhanced by the salinity, due to the proximity of the ocean and the effect of the tide.

You're maybe thinking that China is the dirtiest place on this earth, and you're maybe partially right, but the water color has nothing to do with it, it's just the same everywhere even in non-urban estuaries.

Fucking China, everything is poluted.
They at least could have been wearing wet suits that'd lower contamination from that sick, filthy, pollution-stream.
Better yet... Don't get into streams of sewage, and run off from factories, and plants of all kinds too dangerous for most countries to want to do to begin with, let alone by choice.
I guarantee numerous of them were sick after this, and illness might be on-going. Deaths might even have occurred. This is not an exaggeration. Some waterways on Earth you simply should stay TF out of, not drink from, etc. And, that is obviously one of them.
EDIT IN: If the locals won't get in it, stay out of it. They know something you don't.

No, that's pollution of a major city, you moron. It happens in all major cities on/by rivers like this, it's not some racist attack on China, it's a simple fact that these major cities of homo sapiens trash the nearby water to the point you will be lucky to not die after drinking it, or swimming in it.
Notice there's no Chinese in that river, just them.
This YouTube channel, I imagine by it's name, does dangerous feats, not safe things. What do you think makes that surfing bout extreme, and dangerous? It's the pollution of the water.
The fact you even try to tell people obviously bad water isn't bad out of an assumption we're all racist to see it, and call it like we see it makes you both a racist, and a racebaiter. You want us to pretend major cities are clean? You want us to act like China is magically different from the major cities in other countries that have the same water pollution problem?
I bet your ass wouldn't go in there, nor in any other of the many rivers, and canals on Earth polluted to that degree.
See any fish, birds, or other wildlife in that not gross water, Einstein? See any locals? The answer to both is no. That is a nasty river, just like other nasty rivers in major cities on the Earth.
(Or, do you actually believe that about that river, that it's clean, and just muddy alone? Which would be a case of, "Yikes! Gullible much?")
Can I ask does it break all the time or just in rainy season when there are floods?and did you hire jet skies to get out there or just pay someone by the look of that grey inflatable?
