I too had a sketchy experience at Mizata Point. I was paddling out next to the big rock, when an almost endless set came through. Each duckdive through the whitewash put me closer to the rock. finally I realized I wasn't going to make it, so I turned around and threaded the needle through the gap between the rock and the cliff and got back to the beach. Was no joke.... Glad you came through it.

The day before my close call, a local teenage couple was out. I was watching from shore, and the young girl got washed right into that danger zone. The sets finally let up, just as a very competent surfer from San Diego got to her and guided her out. I heard a visiting surfer from Peru had his leash snap, and ended up clinging to the cliff. He had to jump back in, swim a hundred meters out, then over toward the point and back in.

+SouthIslandSurf exact same thing happened to me. Didn't make it back through that gap however. Eventually got pushed up against the cliff, was a seriously close call

watching this makes me miss the homeland, its a completely different atmosphere and environment down there. Seeing the pier from La Libertad brings back a lot of good memories from my younger days. I love the kombi btw my personal favorite is the 21 window deluxe.

+Matthew Gillenberg the kombi does really well - there have been very few times that I've not been able to go somewhere because I didn't have 4x4. Not all 2-wheel drive vehicles are as good as a Kombi off-road though.

Yeah sorry for the confusion mate - what happened was YouTube blocked the audio on Ep9 so I had to change it and re-release it. Mexico video (EP15) is next as you said. It has been ready for a while, we just need a third party narrator and we haven't been able to get one. We will hopefully have it to you in April and it will be worth the wait, I promise
