Makes it seem relaxing... Been there with half as many heads and half that size but the power puts you on edge... Still expected to see more barrels in the vid. No one got fully shacked

i mean on the outside before the tube breaks and specially AFTER the barrel like Tom Carroll used to do.He used to do the best cutbacks AFTER the barrel!

they dont want to waste a barrel oppurtunity if it presents itself, you can do monster cutbacks on any big shouldery wave in the world, but you cant get 10ft tubes

Yes, exactly. At low, the reef would be much more shallow and the pitch would change by large measure.

actually 2 nd reef pipe is an easier wave than the inside wave and if you pick the right wavess, its easier to make the inside wave once you are up and moving in from the 2nd reef..but not always.. the swell direction has to be right and the tide right.. if the tide is low, the inside can be brutal.. this looks like medium to high and still you can see those that go for the inside break have to be charging pretty good.. but high tide, with a medium swell working the outreef, is not too hard.. once you get past the psychological barrier...a tow out is not a bad idea either.. that way you hve plenty of gas to paddle around for the best peaks..but when you get ready to come in, only one way and that is to set up for the inside tube..don't let the tide get too low.

The way they break. you wouldn't want to pick a wave that's going to break all at once (closeout wave) because you can't ride it and in a tube you get spin cycled haha.

There's one that's been up for a while now of just a pipeline at Oahu, just a webcam set up on the beach. I haven't seen any waves like these on it though.

it is easy, the waves have soo much energy they a easy to paddle onto and the drop is breezy most of the time, but if you make one little mistake the punishment here is much much more severe than most places, so yea the average surfer probably could make the drop, but if they dont get ready to perform cpr

There are a lot of places where you can catch a wave fairly easily, but then it builds to the inside where the real dangerous sections are. So yes, an average surfer can put his/her self into a wave they really are not experienced for, endangering themselves and others.
One might rightfully ask, "How does one ever gain that experience, but to go for it?" A fair question to ask, but don't go to a world renowned and crowded dangerous break to get it.

scottsv96 Go out there and try, you know how many fools get humbled everyday out there? They fly to Hawaii and paddle out and get trashed just paddling out. Stomach turning how many guys are in the water these days. I use to surf these spots as a kid and ten guys out was a crowd!
