I as a partial Japanese person take offence to that statement as there are many Japanese people who are protesting the needless killing of whales and their own government is in fact cracking down on the buying and selling of whale parts as well as the killing of whales in Japanese waters....The problem stems from the black market where whale meat and other parts are sold as....vitamins....for sex drive.....and they catch the whales in international waters which are not bound by the same laws and regulations.....chop them up into bits there on the ocean so by the time they come back into port they don't even look like whales or they come into port at a port that's owned by the Yakuza or some other shadowy group and the shipment gets smuggled in undetected.....They'll hide the fact that its really whale meat until they get it shipped to the stalls and then only people who know that the person sells it can even get a chance to buy it for a ridiculas amount of money.....Then they don't keep it sold in the same place to avoid detection from the authorities.....Its a national problem that will only be solved when people who still think whale meat actually helps your sex life stop buying it because they realize it doesn't work....They have done many tests in Japan and made them available to the public to show that even though the whale is a powerful creature its power doesn't transfer through when you eat it and that in fact its just your own brain that's making you think its working....They did this by treating some meat....I forget which but some how they made it taste like whale then had people who swore that whale meat made them smarter, better in bed, friendlier and more productive at work eat the meat like they would any other day....They monitored their behavior their chemistry and everything and the study concluded that nothing about the meat had helped them and yet they believed that it had because they believed that it was whale me....They were then told that it wasn't whale and that everything they had done theyd done on their own and the people were shocked because they had been taught that whale meat made you all these things. Its just like when you tell a child to eat all their vegetables or they wont grow big and strong....Ive seen plenty of children that eat a limited amount of vegetables and yet they are very healthy kids. Many people who eat whale meat were told it was good for them as children because long ago people used to eat it more frequently....You forget it seems that Japan back in the past was an Island nation separated from the rest of the world....In fact Japan isn't the only place where the people eat whale....Inuit's here in America eat whale meat....But due to their Native America outlook on life they respect the animal and don't hunt it too much. They take what they need and leave the rest to breed and repopulate thus helping the cycle of life continue. It wasn't until outsiders started coming to America and seeing Whale hunting as a sport that whales in this area started to become less and less. Like wise as the idea that whales were somehow imbuing their strength into them Japanese people forgot about the balance of nature and simply started hunting more for profit than for actual need. If the younger generation can learn that whales are in fact more powerful and beautiful when they are alive....I am sure that the killing of them by Japanese people will slow down and stop maybe all together. One can only hope that the future generation is smarter than the one that came before it....Because if whales die out....the whole ecosystem will be f*cked and F*cked badly.....Whales play a highly important part in the balance of the oceans life forms and without them....Oh man....Its gonna be bad for the fishing industry.....
