That's along Midbay Marsh and Cell 14 and 15 in the middle of Galveston Bay. Those are Dredge disposal areas where they place mud and sand from maintenance dredging. Awesome waves all along the entire stretch. Midbay is about a 6,500' ride. Cell 14 an 15 are about 13,000'.

No. My risk of death by drowning, cranial contusion, or being plowed down by a drunk freighter captain in vastly inferior. Plus, I have absolutely *no* abilities to control or even stay atop a surf board, so this activity would probably result in a hospital stay that would bankrupt me. On the upside, Galveston bay has far fewer tar balls and hypodermic needles on the beaches than it did 15 years ago. And yes, I am an area resident, so I have a good idea about it.

It can go on for hundreds and hundreds of meters, even more if the curves of the bank are good, a lot of different aspects come into play too, here you can hear the wind so that might help and add in too, same goes for how the wave was formed etc.
