I know...the guy who said that was a complete fucking moron...lol..pop music?the beatles did more in 7 years than any band,including 1000 years of the rolling stones ever did....they molded most of the music we know....I love the beach boys but good lord.....nobody ever were or ever will be the beatles…..paul and john stand right there with Beethoven,bach,mozart etc....ask any real musician since and 99.9 will tell you the at least have some influence from the beatles...and for the record,mike love IS a fucking bird....I hate the songs he sings in....dude makes them sound so corny

The downside of writing something pretentious and harmonically complex is that you will struggle to perform it live. Great job, hiring Mike Love for the bass vocal (the underlying harmonic accompaniment which threads everything together), great job on hiring the world's second worst pop vocalist. The Beatles followed the same road with Paperback Writer and Nowhere Man; even George Harrison said himself, that the live performances of those songs were so bad they had to do "the Elvis Legs" and waving at the crowd mid-performance to get the audience to scream, which would mask the sound of their terrible performance. Look it up: Paperback Writer Live Japan 1966.

This was perfect...EXCEPT the douchbag Mike Love was singing waaay off key. He recently came to my town calling himself "The Beach Boys" and Not only did I not go, hardly anyone in town went to see him. Touring around calling yourself the Beachboys without Brian because you sued Brian, is not the way to generate fans. Once a douchbag, always a douchbag.

+bighands69 when they lost 2 Wilson brothers, they were no longer the Beach Boys. Mike's 'band' is a nostalgia band, nothing more. Brian was the brains and soul behind them and Carl and Dennis were the heart. Once the lost Dennis and Brian, it was no longer the Beach Boys. Sorry to all those Mike Love fans out there, but that is the cold reality.
