That takeoff at 0:05 is insane!
As a surfer I love seeing takeoff's and hate it when they get omitted. I've seen even pro-surfers struggle with proper takeoff technique when the waves are thick, hollow and fast. e.g Skeleton Bay, Namibia

Sacred Light For sure, takeoffs can be extremely difficult, as a surfer myself, and having a good takeoff can set you up for the whole wave, fortunately we see john john take off there, probably one of the gnarliest surfers on the planet and no slouch when it comes to taking off under the lip as a pipe expert.
