Hi I live in Hernando county, but also go out in cape Canaveral fl. I mostly just cruise around with my boat. I like it so much I would like to make a full time living with fishing. Want to say thanks to Captain Ben for the awesome experiences. We've scheduled a Goliath Grouper trip each year for the past 4-5 years. Each trip, each experience was indescribable. The power of these fish are incredible. The first trip was a bucket list item checked off. But the other four trips were all for the love of the fight. They are super strong and often break the 600lb braided steel cable we are using as fishing line. In this video its hard to tell because it was overcast, but what you can't see is that these giant fish ranging from 200-800+ pounds are just a few feet under the boat as are many large sharks. With the water so clear, you see us in the video literally picking which fish we want to catch as they come to the surface and eat your bait at the side of the boat. It DOES NOT get any better than that. You can see that I'm not the most physically fit person but I always take 2-3 friends who are with me and we all leave in pain from head to toe but smiling from ear to ear. Just catching the bait these fish eat can put a hurting on you. But don't let it discourage you. Rise up to the challenge and call Captain Ben now. No-one else. Captain Ben knows where these fish are and has the right equipment for landing them. Thanks Ben for all the great memories. We will be back next year!

id love LOVE to learn to fish its such a cool sport (yet my hubby hates it and wont take me =( ) but only when they let it go at the end like this one i wasnt sure if they were going to keep it or not while i was watching it and i was rooting for the guy to get his catch but i was secretly hopping the fish would escape to great video guys thanks

Me and my grandfather fish in the gulf of Mexico in 120 feet if water about 35 miles out, and we need to know, we keep hooking a fish we have about 8 times. It will bury it's nose in the sand and we'll get it off maybe 30 40 feet, then it will go right back to the bottom, same spot, any idea what this fish is?

This show was a charter from last year. They have already came back and did a trip much like this one this july. We caught monster fish on our trip today as well.

+IAMdevilwomen They (Goliath's) were over-fished at one point so they are only "fish for fun" now. There are other types of groupers you can eat...some are are "slot fish" (can't be too big and can't be too small) other's just have a minimum size. They taste great.

+Brenda Iglehart I spent the better part of my adult life trying to catch a 23 pound Largemouth Bass. I kept tackle in my vehicle and a zodiac inflatable in the trunk. I studied the mooncharts, temperature changes and the barometer rising and falling. I fished before work, after work, called in sick of work, preferring to tell the truth rather than be caught in a lie. Believe it or not, most bosses understood that I was chasing a dream, a dream of becoming the World Champion Largemouth Fisherman. I also fished my way through 3 marriages, that I'm sorry for, but what's done is done and I can't change that. The biggest Largemouth I ever had in my hands was a little over 15 pounds, 8 pounds short of the record, if you hold up an 8 pound Bass, that's a lot to be short. I wanted to be Champion of the most fished for fish, not the biggest or the strongest, but the most sought after with millions of men and women trying to catch a big one.

I threw my hip outta socket Catching a Catfish One day, and of course my lil girl broke the line sense I was laying on the ground not able to sit up and reel that fish in, and it cost me a pretty penny going fishing that day, BUT I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING ABOUT IT..LOL

Hmm interesting but surely if they are protected that usually means you are not allowed to fish them ? It means you have to completely leave them alone and not disturb them at all also why would they possibly harm a protected species if that's the case. My point still stands unless you land it.. actualy as I see it theyr pretty smart ...That is considered fishing because they put a bait on a hook ,,how are they to know for certain that its gonna get eatin by a monster grouper they couldve caught anything like a shark or an Eel or a blue marlin or an octupus theyrs thousands of things that couldve attached it self to theyr lure so thats the definition of fishing wheather theyv figured out an easy way its not for you to judge them.

yupp...... i found the bullshit law Goliath grouper, commonly called jewfish, are totally protected from harvest in Florida waters. It is illegal to boat, gaff or harm a jewfish. All care during handling and releasing must be diligently done as quickly as possible.
