As for "understanding statistics" i do understand them. I'll tell you who dosn't understand it: the people who put out the FAO's 2006 report - Livestock's Long Shadow. You see, this fossil fuel burning has a cause, people just dont fucking burn oil because they like the smell. They burn the fuel because its used MAINLY for transportation. Lets see whats the industry that carries the biggest transportation costs of all industries... OH WOW! Look at that, its the meat industry. Not only that but meat industry is the most costly when it comes to water usage, and also terrain AND also one of the main reasons for deforestations.

So when Michael Mann, James Hansen, Naomi Oreskes and all the other climate scientists CLEARLY state that the major cause of global warming is fossil fuel burning they are lying? It's all a conspiracy?
It dosn't mater that NASA, the EPA, NOAA etc. say global warming is caused mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels. You know why? Because there is a documentary called cowspiracy that says otherwise.
And this is why i hate vegans. Because just like Alex Jones and the Koch brothers you attack the scientific consensus that the burning of fossil fuels is the major driver of anthoropogenic climate change just to further your agenda.
The reason we are destroying the biosphere is not because of meat eating.

But do be careful using climate change and global warming interchangeably. In fact, it might be a good idea to completely forget about using global warming at all since it has become a term of the past.
Climate change can be caused my a multitude of things, but global warming is one thing and one thing only, a rise in the average temperature of the earth.
Climate change can be anything from summer turning autumn to the moons distance to the earth affecting how high water levels reach that year.
So yes, you are right in saying that it is climate change, but climate change isn't the only word for it.
I use global warming as a way to emphasise that I am talking about man made climate change. The green house effect.

Now, imagen this water wasn't water, but carbondioxide. The earth can handle some carbondioxide. But when there is a sudden and rapid increase in the levels, the earth can not handle it.
Another issue is permafrost in the artic tundra, if the earth warms just enough for that to thaw then it releases methane that was stored in the frozen ground into the atmosphere, the extra methane increases the greenhouse effect leading to more permafrost thawing. One big positive feedback loop.
So yeah, no matter what we do anyways the earth will warm by 1.5'C due to the amount of carbon we have already burnt (there's a lag time to the effect), if we continue at our current rate it will go above the tipping point causing that positive multiplier effect I talked about.

Balance is the needed variable, not too much meat, but no religious veganism either, especially if you add the fact that some people just cant process meat/certain needed vegetables for either of those diets, or choose not to eat meat
I for one nearly got killed by one of these preaching vegans that included gluten based fake meat in a meal, i knew it was off since it was meat and he was vegan, but he kept denying it until i searched the kitchen by chance, and found out he nearly got me into the hospital (half of my family is allergic to it, getting heart issues when we eat it...)
Well lesson learned, no more eating with him... And here in germany it even is really simple to eat gluten free since anything that contains it (and other often allergic substances) is marked differently in the list of ingredients
Humanity overall is a race thats an omnivore, obviously not everyone of us eats everything, some people dont like meat, i hate raw tomatos (urgh, i do like them if prepared in most ways though, even tomato juice xD) but just as monoculture is harmful to a field, everyone eating vegan doesnt solve the problems either
Still eating less meat amd more vegetables is a good idea in quite some societies
And I'm not claiming that farming itself is harmful I'm saying the way the meat industry farms is harmful.
