Loving the video. I think the bass you missed could have been an error on hook set. With big baits that have treble hooks I find it best to sweep to the side. When you try to hook set in the upward motion your pretty much taking the hooks out of the fishes mouth. A side sweep would help on the hook set. If it's a top hook the upward hook set is perfect. Keep the videos coming.

On swimbaits that size you really really want to over exaggerate the hookset to drive those thick hooks in the lip. You setting it too soft. A good alternative for you would be to change out your swimbait rods line with straight braid. No stretch=less hookset. Thats what I do

Hey loved the video so glad to see more and more people throwing big baits, I've been throwing them for a while and wanted to point something out to help you lose less fish, with Swimbaits jig hooks or trebles you want to have a long smooth but firm hook set this will not only set the hooks deeper but also won't rip the bait out of their mouths. I made the same mistake when I started and trust me it really helps.

The next challenge should be actual FISHING. Not this throwing lures in a pond until a hungry fish happens to bight it. I bet you'd have the same luck chucking a carved stick painted blue with a couple treble hooks screwed in it and for a lot less money. Do you actually think this very lure was developed and manufactured for pond fishing? I can guarantee the person who made said lure famous by catching over a 1000 ten plus pound bass with it never even once tried it in a pond because it's pointless and proves nothing! It only proves a skilled fisherman you are not. Sweet lure nonetheless.

I fish the o.g deps 250s and stick tons of fish... don't be intimidated because the size of the bait they only have to tag a hook.. With all the big swimbaits you need to do a heavy side-sweep with your hookups, not straight up. I think you'll see a significant increase in your hookup and landing ratio

Try palming the reel instead of holding it the way your doing it now. U can put your trigger finger under the line if u need to feel the bite. U need a better control of the rod for a stringer hook set.

Just my critical thought, your game plan needs to change; via THE WATER YOU ARE FISHING. get out on your boat and get some action on a decent lake that you live by. Blueberry Bonanza lures actually provide a challenge and tend to catch much larger fish. These large glide baits are not meant to catch the most amount of fish in one day but they have the highest potential to catch a trophy fish.

Marco P That Duel Hardcore Twitch Ninja is the bomb... I just got into the swimbait game myself, but a friend of mine caught a 6-1 on his 4th cast back in March when I took him to my home lake. I was a believer! He was using the rainbow trout. Within the next couple hours, I saw so many big fish follow that thing back to the boat, that even though we caught two massive fish that day, (I caught a 6-13 about an hour later) and I got it all on video, I took the time to order an array of swimbaits before I edited that video and uploaded it. I've only been out a couple times since then due to illness, but by the first part of next month, I should be back out there.

Blueberry Bonanza live bait will catch u fish but takes no skill and decreases the likelihood of catching a giant, a big glide bait such as a deps 250 greatly increases the odds of getting a big bass hooked but the downside is the price and the fact it takes a lot of skill and more patience to catch one

Blueberry Bonanza the point of a bait that expensive is to specifically go for the largest fish in the lake. A live trout might get u a 3-5 pounder but a 10-12 inch glide bait that you have complete control over can finesse a 10-20 pounder and they'll get the hook too. You kno when you get a bite it's going to be a toad. Although I would personally never spend more then $40 on a lure, the concept makes sense. And the best glide bait is the duel ninja twitchin glide caught too many 5s to count 11 6-7s 3 8+ and 1 (my PB) 10.09 pounder (could be bigger or smaller scale was a little off with the grip I had on it
