if you are stranded on an island you would be very lucky come across some fishing line with a jig bait....maybe make a video on how to gather materials from the island and fish with it. thats real survival

Here in Australia we have actual handlines, not DIY handlines.

You can get ones small enough to catch tiny little bait fish, and ones big enough to catch sharks and tuna.
They're basically a very portable fishing setup, you can fit one easily into your backpack when you go camping or just keep on on the glove box of your car in case if you want to go fishing randomly.

We used hand lines like this in the 1980s in Los Angeles County my uncle from Mexico taught us this method when we used to fish for Tilapia in the San Gabriel river and he did it with a glass coke bottle from that time period.

Don't know if you remember those 1980s coke bottles in USA they were barrel shaped.

He just took some line from our spare spool a sinker and hook and he out fished us that day.

I've seen plenty of people use these coke bottle rigs in So Cal. They'd also catch salt water perch this way off the rocks with blood worms and this coke bottle hand line.

Its great that you're teaching people this but it has been used in USA by many folks you just haven't seen it I guess. Peace and keep up the good work.
