when you fish these places you should take your ice rod with you so if you find small bit you can just fish with ice rod as it take no room more so if you get a small reel for it or even a pen rod but dont get one with baitcaster reel get spinning reel one

You should use a good mineral based sunscreen for protection. I live in central Florida and know how punishing the sun here can be. I make a lovely herbal salve that heals sunburns really well. Having a redhead we have put it to good use.

Most of those fish were angel fish, the small ones were gobies, the one black and white one was a damsel. All make great aquarium fish.

I saw other anglers use long wooden poles with just a short leader for rock-pool-fishing. You can reach much deeper pools and dont have to worry about ruining the rod or getting tangled.

Hi. The fish you catched at 1:33 seems like a member of Trachinidae family (By the way I am not a specialist!). That family contains poisonous fishes. I am not sure but the front fin on the dorsal side could have a spine. It would be better cautious when touching these kind of fishes.

In Oregon, you can use a stout rod with a few inches of line on the end with a lure and you can catch big eels from above water rocks in minus tides

The Bearded Okie fishing is pretty nice now, definitely go to the easy jetty (as seen here) and walk all the way to the end to catch bigger fish. Live bait works best, if you like to use lures get a gotcha

i remember fishing a lake near my house and caught a fish, i went too unhook it to let it go and my line fell into the rock crevasses and i was like crap i'm going to lose my whole rig. tried pulling it out and it felt like it was caught until its started pull back. ended up hand lining in a nice little burbot. now i do alot of this type of fishing like you do fishing the most unlikely of places. love your videos

Also try to get live bait and use a larger rod with a Carolina rig and a 5/0 or 6/0 size circle hook and a 1 or 2 ounce lead weight and use 50 pound mono for the leader, fish from the destin bridge and drop live bait straight down, make sure you have a drop net. You have a high chances of catching a redfish, I'll be doing the same off of destin bridge Saturday night

That is a nice combination of Damselfish and Gobies, man! Damselfish are hard to identify without proper photos! I think I saw a few Cocoa Damselfish, one adult Longfin Damselfish, and a Sergeant Major. Nice mix of Gobies too! I think I saw a few Frillfin Gobies in the mix. Beautiful.

The fish at 1:35 and 2:20 are some sort of goby (or a close relative.) If you don't know what those look like in the 618 area, you're lucky, round gobies are everywhere in the Great Lakes and moving outward.

He's in salt water. There are salt water native gobies in the Gulf - images are not clear enough to specifically decide if it's a round goby (Neogobius melanostomus), and round gobies have not been listed as an invasive species in the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico (where he was -- Destin, FL, at O'Steen beach). Its called a snakehead, super invavisive to native species anywhere. I think they originate in asia and got caught up in all the overseas shipping along with the goby and have managed to live almost anywhere they ended up. Btw a bullhead is a type of catfish.

It's all good, but I think there is a little confusion about the identities of these fish. The majority of those were Damselfish which really don't get a whole lot bigger than that. And the smaller fish that look like lingcod are a species of Goby which are usually only reported to get up to about 4 inches maximum.

Because fishing for small fish like that is an excellent way to see the biodiversity around you, species of fish that only grow to that size won't ever be seen if you don't downsize your hooks (even though those species are very common). For people who like to catch multiple species of fish rather than a few big ones it is a fun way to fish. I know this kind of fishing isn't for everyone so if you don't enjoy it it's cool, tight lines

I mean, none, because you can't eat them and they're not much for sport cuz they don't fight. Florida has great fishing though. To each their own, not a criticism just trying to understand it better. The point is not necessarily to catch the biggest or most amount of fish with fly fishing as well, I can see the craft in that sorta like starting a fire with your own hands.

I don't really get microfishing, I mean, is it like how some people buy those miniature Cokes roughly the same price as a 20 oz? I get it from the perspective if you're ultralight hiking but even then, people are catching 20lb fish on collapsible pen rods.
