I don't know how it works in the USA but in the UK, you would not be allowed to move fish from one venue to another without environmental permission. You don't know what bacterial diseases the fish in your pool may have and they have possibly now passed on to the Koi which you now have released into another water to infect all the other fish. If the that pond floods or there's a excess water outlet you may be responsible for releasing any diseases into a very large area.
