Hatchery Creek is a favorite trout stream for many Kentucky anglers. Stocked every other day year round by the US Fish & Wildlife Service's Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery the creek provides excellent access to catch rainbow trout. Armed with Pautzke Fire Balls and Natural Deluxe and Silver Label salmon eggs we caught and released dozens of trout in a few hours while filming Pautzke Outdoors here. Upper Hatchery Creek is a man-made stream that's ideal for older folks, kids and those who enjoy easy access and crowds. The creek is stocked with roughly 32,500 trout per year and is likely one of the shortest stocked trout streams in America.
